Overlord is an awesome anime with huge lore and world building. Its a must watch. Also 1st 2 episodes of overlord are conjoined. better react to them together to better understand the premise.

I think it’s genius with its parodies and subversions of normal cliches that fit into the serious world. The (spoiler free) premise is an ordinary man from a dystopian world gets transported as his game character into a new world with his base and his various inhuman npcs, which gain sentience. He fakes being an evil grand dictator because he has people relying on him, but he grows into the character he pretends to be.

As if simply the appearance of that white lizard wasn't enough for scalies, there's actually a scene (in the anime, not just in the novel) of her being mated. Like, with actual movement and everything, and while nothing explicit is shown, it's not something that's played off or in any way obscure or vague. You see it happening, you know what's happening, characters watching (by accident through remote viewing magic) know what's happening, they comment on what's happening, it even prompts the main Skele-bro to consider finding someone to teach the elf children about the birds and the bees because they were among those who saw. It's a pretty long scene, too.

Leorio is a real bro fr. As for a selling point that you asked for: it's one hell of a power trip. By the time the fights are ending, it feels completely one-sided. A single word that I could describe this anime with is "Domination" and it's quite fitting, what with the title being "Overlord" and all that It's definitely a pretty good anime. The fanservice exists, as you'd expect in an anime these days, but it's genuinely entertaining most of the time. Especially the intriguing story lines in the later seasons. PS: if my knowledge is correct and i haven't been misinformed by the internet, those illustrations in the EDs were drawn by the author of the Light Novels Overlord was based off of (or, at least, the artist is the same, idk if it's actually drawn by the author of the story)

There's another song related to this series that is amazing, but it has ultra spoilers so I suggest you wait until you get to it organically. It's in the final episode of the fourth season, and is basically a Disney Princes music and dance number. Except... well, again, I don't want to spoil it. You absolutely do want to check out this anime. As far as a selling point? How's this for an elevator pitch: Skele-bro is the protagonist. He doesn't have a plan, but every word he says is something his crew takes out of context and assumes it is some deep and insightful bit of deep lore that will reveal the inner workings of reality. He accidentally lucks into things, which his crew assume was the result of his intricate five-dimensional chess planning. If you enjoyed Eminence In Shadow, you'll like this, the protags have very similar energy.

DON'T GIVE THE 60FPS VERSIONS VIEWS! Not only are they not the originals, but changing the FPS of animations ruins them. There's a reason why certain animations are made at certain framerates (there's also a reason why live-action movies are filmed at certain framerates). And, yes, you should watch Overlord. It's an amazing show.

Albedo is the dark haired horned succubus and Shalltear Bloodfallen is the white haired vampire. It's an anime worth watching in my opinion, heard the light novel is great and plan to read it.

This is everything *for now*. There is still more of the novels not yet adapted. I believe it's a movie coming soon, which will take place in early season 4 chronologically. The novels are still ongoing as well, last I looked.

I have watched over 500 animes till date. I only own figurines of Overlord characters. Also, I have the entire collection of Overlord light novels although its double the price in my country. I think that's enough to tell you whether you should watch Overlord or not. You like Leorio, eh? Then, you'd likely enjoy his predecessor, Kuwabara. Before Hunter x Hunter, its author made a show called Yu Yu Hakusho. One of my favorites. And recently, it got a five episode Live Action adaptation.

I do recommend the light novels (although they are not the best written LN I have encountered (although "traduttore, traditore" as they say). The anime is pretty faithful to the books (and the character designs of So-Bin therein), but doesn't emphasise a lot of the subtext/context very well. Especially the fact that Suzuki Satoru is pretty much out of his depth when dealing with other people, especially the newly sentient inhabitants of Nazarick (who are *much* more true to their alignment designations than they really were in the original VRMMO).

season 1 was good, some of the other seasons had Issues with .....cringe CGI. and lizard people sex. like they spent at least half the season on lizard tribe romance. i don't know why they did this, why they thought i wanted to see that. but yeah sure its worth watching
