So to give a bit of context: Overlord (the skull guy) is the main character in this show. He used to be a regular person but now he's stuck in his game avatar. So he isn't inherently evil. All the other beings surrounding him are serving him and have little to no compassion for other creatures in that world. The emperor you thought was evil and the princess simply have goals and they don't discriminate against methods to achieve those goals. So you could say they're evil but I wouldn't necessarily call it that. The whole show boils down to: weak beings struggling to live, survive, achieve their dreams meet Overlord and his crew, get obliterated. There's some other stories going on but most of them boil down to Main Character deciding who lives and who doesn't. The show also has this sort of comedic spin to it at times where the MC sometimes has no clue what's going on but acts as if he understands everything.

Some info on the artists: OP1, OP2, ED3 & OP4 are by OxT, with Masayoshi Oishi on the vocals. Mayu Maeshima sang ED1 as a part of MYTH & ROID, but she split for a solo career and did ED4. ED2 and OP3 are done by MYTH & ROID, with KIHOW as their current singer. Both OxT and MYTH & ROID have Tom-H@ck as their composer/arranger/producer in their groups. hotaru is the lyricist of MYTH & ROID, who also did lyrics for these OxT songs and Mayu’s song. Lastly, for ED4, composers/arrangers/producers were both Shuhei Mutsuki and Ryo Mitaya.

The reasoning the change was so drastic from op 3 to 4 is because 3 was made by myth and roid, and 4 (along with 1 and 2) were made by oxt
