As f2p,it is better to focus on 2 * gems and if you buy boon of plenty that gives you 600 orbs,eventually you can get it awaken and actually have a more powerful gem slot then having rank 5 (5* gem) cause you get more bonuses overall.

Thanks for the follow up on your vid from yesterday. This helps a lot as someone who purchases only the $5 battle pass. I’m in a weird position with my gems… have 5/8 of my 1 and 2 star gems at rank 5 for the magic find bonus, fervent fang rank 8, then I have 3/5 * gloom at Rank 3 and a 2/5* BSJ at rank 2.. after seeing these calculations I’m soo tempted to extract the power out of those 5* gems and find a couple 2* gems to replace.

Multiple copies of the same gem are one thing, horendous amounts of gem power is what is killing me :(

Echo, good content, thank you! The wait for the fervent fang is harsh. Have you noticed there is ffang in battlepass shop you can buy once per month?

You can also get Fervants in the archive shop, using the coins you get from the enhanced battle pass.

Progressive upgrades makes the gem upgrade system a little easier, starts at rank 5. 1 BSJ + 60 gem power 16% to rank 6, 1 BSJ + 60 gem power 32% to rank 6, etc. Also Fervant Fang you can buy in the shop directly, its not only on the battle pass.

Bumping resonance with bad gems is only good to get wings. In the long run it does not help you. Best to focus on 1/2* gems with 1 or 2 good 5* gems like BSJ. As far as if it is worth it for a 5/5 or 4/5. If you are going for rank 7 or higher it is highly recommended you have a 5/5 and at least a 4/5 otherwise the cost to upgrade is just not worth the resonance gain.

I have a LV10 pain, bloody reach, mothers, P&C, fang, freedom & devotion, zerk eye. Currently working on leveling up a vipers bite. Having that many awakened slots is epic.

I got pain clasp, mothers, igneous, vipers, fervent, carsens, everlasting, berserkers all rank 10 and couldn’t be happier

BSJ is still going for 64 k on my server. No gems are over inflated in price .

Also you didnt discuss the importance of awakening, those bonuses, and how many 5 star gems you need to slot inside of a rank 10 awakened 5 star to get those additional bonuses. Awakening is much more attainable for 1 and 2 star gems.

As a f2p/vvv low spender (less than $700 since launch) is have 3 rank 5 4*(bsj, Starfire, gloom) rest are r10 2* which simply made best sense to me, I'll drop one of the 5* if a better 2* comes along in the future though

the question for me is - is it worth to have a level 4 (or 5-6) blood soked jade if you compare against a 2star gem that you can max ?

I currently have five 5* gems at rank 4: BSJ, BotW, Gloom Cask, Starfire, and MotD. I may get them to rank 5, but I doubt rank 6 would be feasible for me to do with any reasonable timeframe. I have three 2* gems that are Awakened: Viper’s, ML, and P & C. My current reso is 2558.

i just got a tradable zwenson haunting 2 star and im really enjoying maw of the deep should i trade it to get maw of the deep to rank 3(im using blood knight class)

For me ideally to use is 2-3 best 5* legendary gem the rest are 2* and 1*. I would pick BSJ BT and Gloom Cask.

I think the move is to go 2* gems and then pick one 5* to work on at a time I wish I would have known to do it that way. You get pearls so you can craft specific ones for copies it would be slow going but I think its a good way to go. Also probably don't crunch them up for gem power. I remember in the beginning crunching up bile copies because I never thought I would get enough of them to amount to anything but then I found a 4* one and started working on it now its rank 6 and I bet it could have been one higher if I never crunched any up

I have been prioritizing 1 and 2 star gems to level up 10. I have 4 of the 8 at 10 and gear awakened. I also have a BSJ at rank 4 and in the same position as most low spenders are in, stuck due to copies and gem power. I did notice for me, the empowered BP gives me an option to select the fervent fang or two pearls (4 in total). This is interesting because the pearls will help me get another BSJ copy faster. Then again is 4 pearls worth more than 8 gem power from the fervent fangs. What do you think?

i have 3 5* 3/5 Star Gems at Level 4, and planning to stay there for an while. the rest are 2* gems and im planning to hit rank 10 each of these.

What? 1 star blood soaked jade? 21 normal gems farmed every day? I don't have/can't do those things in DI. Whachutalkinabout, Willis? 2☆ BSJ is the lowest rank. And you can farm 12 unbound normal gems per day in a party of 4. You can also get 2 or 3 gems per day via fishing, but they aren't worth expecting or counting on because they take too long and it's too unreliable to get them.

It knocks the wind out of my sails, thinking about the gem power and dupes needed. It's a little demotivating ...but we gotta get those 3k wings somehow! I'm concentrating on 2 stars for now, ML, Pain, Viper etc. It's funny, I would buy that Spiteful Blood from you but we can't do player to player sales, for obv reasons...

This is beginning to look a full time job or a lot invest of money... for a game... Highly addictive if you don't put things on perspective.

I honestly don't mind the 5 star gems, im a sucker for 5 star gems it does take along time to upgrade them but gives me something to work towards. I farm a ton of platinum

I'm a low spender. I gave up the idea of ever using and leveling 5-star gems in general. The only minor exception is that I crafted a BSJ and leveled it to Rank 2 for PvP and farming. For general PvE, though, I use six two-star gems and two one-star gems, and I'm ranking them up as I can.

I got lucky and got a 5 star Starfire. Same week got another 2 star one. It's providing me with 400 resonance so far. Wondering what I'm going to do to upgrade that further. Meanwhile I've got other gems to upgrade. Keep grinding plat and crests I guess and hope for luck.

It is worth it. higher Cr and less expensive. To bring a 3/5* Lego gem to lvl 4, then a 2* to lvl 10

Don't understand why you have to rank them to 10, rank it as much as possible and enjoy the effects, I have all 5* rank 4 and 1 of them to rank 6 and I'm good, nice cr and over 2700 res, why is rank 10 so important especially if you're not focused on pvp

Not going to try and get anything past 1000 resonance as the grind is to long and I can’t afford the time more than anything else…. I think you will get 3000 resonances in a few months as you put the work in… awesome video

Yeah this is why I stopped playing, it isn't possible to ever get there without spending more than is sensible on one game, better to buy a box-price game where you can grind for the upgrades rather than play a "free" game where you have to spend real money to get the upgraded items.

It would of been much easier if the progressive levelling started at Rank 4 and would be good for F2p to get their Res up

Its not worth it period! Anyone can beat every monsters in every difficulty w/o spending. 5 stars are only for battlegrounds. But until they fix the matchmaking its stupid to spend. They deceiving players to spend a little more then betray them being matched with dolphins whales. Wasted 6 mins of our lives as pawns to raised whales ego with many kills.

Calling a gem 5* when you mean rank 5 is going to confuse a lot of people.

I've been playing f2p for about 6 months and got a 4* gem from an a 10 rift with only one legendary crest and 9 rare. I freaked and cringed cause I knew what it was going to take to rank it.

Make an alt and farm for gems and then sell them on the alt. After your alt has platinum, then have your alt buy your 1 and 2 star gems from your main for a specific amount so you know that’s what you posted and you can then transfer plat from the alt to the main. Takes a little effort but it works

I upgrade my 1- and 2- star gems. Most are at 5 or 10. But I have some 5-star gems that I am slowly upgrading to rank 5. I think it's worth upgrading your 5-stars to rank 5 for the mf.

This is why I have said from day one that there is no viable F2P or moderate spend (aka grinder) path for 5 star gems. Selling normal gems is ridiculous - AND YOU SACRIFICE YOUR 2NDARY STATS FOR RES. Only way is to play the gem market like it's the stock market - buy low, sell high. At that point, you're watching the market more than you're playing the game. Familiars offer another source of plat, but only the best familiars are selling on my server. So not looking too feasible in reality. The bottom fell out of the charm market once familiars were released. Sadly. I hope it recovers.

Please as a content creator stop saying 5 star when you mean rank 5. This confused me last year when i was new lol I’m sure a lot others as well. Also you need to calculate the gem power into the cost lol it gets brutal. Anyway, great video bro keep up the good stuff

The answer is yes, some 5 stars are fine at ranks 1-3. What you SHOULD NOT do is just wear a bunch of rank 1 5 stars JUST BECAUSE they are 5 stars. 5 star gems are not the be all end all of gems. There are many factors to think about.

Get those gems to level 5 and call it good.

Omg, i just looked what it costs to upgrade just a 1 star to 10, that already blows my mind. I don't even wanna really know what 5 star costs. From my actual feeling at the moment i think it takes me alone 4-5 months for just one 1 star to 10. So actual 297 paragon, thats like many other players also just have, but only 450 resonance.

5 star gems is not for F2P players to be honest unless your goal is to rank them to level 3 or 4 but 2 star gems is much easier to rank up because you can literally have the gem powers and dupes from crafting or buying from market

Wayyyy better to NOT sell your regular gems and get those secondary stats up. Awakened 1 and 2* and high secondary stats are so much better than Resonance for low spenders. This platinum grind is not wise long term.

If I could start over the optimal way to play as ftp would to use all 1 star gems and max them out. Just pay for the battlepass and other little things. U can have all awakened gear and a complete character technically. You'll have to forget about resonance though it won't even matter. If I knew what I know now I would of stayed ftp with 1 stars.

It's not a game anymore if you need this much effort for upgrading the gems. I'm not even considering upgrading them; it seems like a JOB, not something you'd do for fun if you need to upgrade the gems.

74 copies is ridiculous though for rank 10 though.

I think no spenders are golden for 5 stars, unless blizzard makes a way to awaken gear without spending. No point in getting a 1 star to rank 10 if you can't even awaken it

If you sell all your gems, you'll be missing a lot of secondary stats.

It's definitely not worth it for low spender. It will be forever. I get 4* five star gem and straight for upgrading it to level 3 it asked me another 5* gem.

Not watching. The answer is YES. Not even a question, so save them till you can get them to rank 4.... You will never get strong if you dont save and rank up good gems. Helped many low spenders and f2p, they all 2k+ reso now. Dont be a noob, use 5* gems.
