It's really easy. Contested information cannot be taught in schools as fact or as the prevailing view of the national culture, at any level. Perhaps for older school kids and in FE careful classroom discussions might be had on ideas about gender (masculine/feminine spectrum) and sexuality. Why not. But teaching, or even suggesting, that sex is anything other than a biological, binary fact (male/female), and that people can change between sexes just by saying so, is dangerous fantasy that often leads to longterm psychological problems for untreated dysmorphia/dysphoria and even physical harm. So yes, age appropriate, balanced discussion for older learners on gender and sexuality, with biological facts being taught as such. Although I fear it's too late for HE, as universities' humanities faculties are the root cause of the rise of militant identitarianism, where the aim is no longer learning, it's indoctrination into the postmodernist, neo-Marxist cult (of which trans ideology is but one tenet). I think the UK HE system is beyond help in this respect.

And it is completely incorrect to say that Section 28 (or Clause 4 in Scotland) banned the mention of the word 'homosexuality' in the classroom. But that is the kind of inaccurate information you will get from people with a certain preconceived background. And why was he on the panel, anyway?
