At one point The Ringer was ahead of the game when it came to podcasts and KZfaq content, and now they're way behind. Even ESPN is uploading full video podcasts with clips interspersed throughout, meanwhile Bill Simmons won't even buy himself a camera that can record in 1080p lol. I TOTALLY disagree with this take!! Garland and Spida are a small backcourt. But they check off every other box. FG and FT%, assists to TO ratio, stretching the floor with 3's, and steals, are all top notch. Cleveland needs help on the wing. OG Anunoby would be a really interesting fit. 🤔
@t4d0W
@t4d0W 7 ай бұрын
Uh look how good that small back court was even with a group of talents that can ideally help them in the playoffs vs the Knicks last season. They tried to hide Garland to a non shooter like RJ Barrett but he took advantage of the mismatch and drove on the hobbit to the rim. Mitchell was getting char broiled trying to front Brunson and whatever wack ass wing was on him. Mobley couldn't even leave an injured Randle alone at the perimeter because his shot making is still good enough. Sure those stats you preach are good for the regular season but that will never do anything in the postseason. Same situation Mitchell had with the Jazz being paired with Mike Conley. And everyone dumped on Gobert for not doing enough on defense when the Jazz tried to play small and were far worse defensively.
@SalKhayer
@SalKhayer 7 ай бұрын
I think from a strictly fantasy perspective, this makes sense. From a perspective of being able to build up and manage cap tables while accruing strong, highpower rookie-scale contracts to bolster a championship bench once Mobley and Garland develop and gain their max contracts and develop, you're looking at a dynastic set up if scouting is on point.

Everybody can see what happening with Cavs and Mitchell, he only wants to go to the knicks for a long term contract. He's not big enough to be a franchise savior. Who is going to give so much for a rental. The knicks is there best offer, so they should be calling the Knicks now and take their best offer. While losing 3 first round picks, our first round selection that year, sexton and Lauri lol We were 4th in the East before injury pre Mitchell. We should’ve stayed with that team and ran it back. Garland didn’t get to build on his breakout year (all star) , Lauri went on and built on his just not with us, and Mobley didn’t cont his development as he gets less touches. In every way we shouldn’t have done that trade. Why try the two small backcourt again with a rich man’s sexton (Mitchell) when the team soared when he got hurt? Also created more of a defensive liability as Mitchell and Garland are small. Just an L all around, Mitchell doesn’t fit and we will never be better than the top 3 as constructed

Just go ahead and say it, Dollar Bill, the Celtics need a couple of dogs. Their guards are so good defensively, they make things really hard for other teams. They have all the skill players on the offensive end, making them very hard to match up with. So if they get a couple of dogs, they would be all-around nightmare to play against. You are right. Isaiah Stewart could fit the role and up the physicality. But here is my question to you: how about PJ Tucker? I know he is old, but he wants out of LA and may still have something left. Could he come in during the playoffs and harass and even rough up a star player for 15 minutes a night ?I think it is possible. If they got Stewart and Tucker, which I think they could, then Boston would be a nightmare to play against--massive defensive pressure on the ball making it hard to get into the offense, serious physicality in the paint and the ability to mix it up with the Giannis' of the world in a 7 game series, and a spacing and matchup nightmare for your defense. Also, going the route of toughness and physicality would compensate a bit for Tatum and Brown being somewhat "soft"--at least mentally "soft" at times (Don't get mad). I am not even a Boston fan, but I see the logic of going this way. Am I off base?

If the Cavs trade Mitchell, they're taking a step back after expending first round picks to get him. Is that wise? The best case scenario for them is to get Donovan to re-sign, see how they perform in the play-offs with the newly acquired wing players and wait for Mobley to develop his three ball to at least league average accuracy.

They *HAVE* to get Mitchell to resign but they are going to do so at his preferred price. I didn't realize it but Mitchell is a UFA which means the Cavs have ZERO leverage for his contract negotiations. Then again Mitchell knows Cavs may be the only team in the league with the money to get him his price than trying to increase his value to 'prospective' teams around the league.

This is silly. Bulding a culture of winning is as important as winning a championship. No franchise went from losing to suddenly winning a chip. Even the Warriors became mediocre first and started getting chippy before they won anything. That's the point of the Minnesota trade. The point of the Minny trade was that Gobert's value on defense outweighed all those 'value' players the Jazz got back which none of them are factors in the regular season or in the playoffs. In fact check what those players the Jazz got are doing for the most part. Meanwhile Gobert damn kept the Wolves afloat last season with his defense with Kat out for 1/3rd of the season. I love the hornets with don that’s crazy. Chris just needs to settle that specific one down a touch. Lamelo is six seven. It’s a problem in Cleveland because you can’t win with small guards. Spurs nah. But half the league would call TONIGHT if that was the case. I’m on the trade garland train tho

@@gluggerluggger so it is DM fault the other players don't move when he has the ball? Garland plays out of control, low assists, and turns the ball over at a rate that is more than unacceptable.I guess this is DM's fault? JA and Mobley have few offensive rebounds. Straus. Niang, and Wade bricklayers. All of this is DM's fault? DM is NOT the Cavs problem. Trading one of the best shooters in the league so Garland can dribble the ball at the end of the quarter and miss the shot is stupid.

He will be a Knick! Almost the entire league knows he wants to return home, and that's in New York. He pretty much can dictate where he wants to go, because he can tell other teams he's not going to resign. I believe he said he had a home being built somewhere in New York and he planned on living there. He wants to be a New York Knick, and the cash will be forced to deal with the Knicks, and in essence the Knicks hold the advantage in regards to what they're going to give up. Especially knowing that he's not going to resign with the Cavs and he wants to be a New York knick, Why then would the Knicks want to give up a lot to get him? So it's not a matter of if, as it is a matter of when. And I believe when especially with these injuries is going to be before the trade deadline this year

@@phamawait does make the most sense, because he has stated he wanted to be a New York Knick, he has a home in New York and people forget he gets to choose where he wants to go because he has one more year left on his contract, and no team is going to want a one-year rental. He wants to be a Knick and that's why it makes the most sense. The Knicks can give them a decent package, because they don't want to lose him for nothing. Or the Knicks can just wait until after next year and they don't have to give up a thing. At the end of the day he will be a Knick, and it's not a matter of if but a matter of when.
