I was contemplating buying a prebuilt because I was overwhelmed by all of the advice and recommendations of KZfaqrs, and I was worried I might mess up in break something. Eventually I decided to just build it myself. It only took a few hours and besides some driver issues, it was up and running by the next day. Don’t be too overwhelmed, you can do it
@rangerst_8705 ай бұрын
Best thing you can EVER do when building a new pc is get the drivers for the network from the motherboard manufacturer website. Whether using wifi or LAN. Get whichever you are planning to use. Then save that driver program on the USB drive that has windows installation on it. That way, if it doesn’t have network with the included windows drivers, you have the driver program already on the flash drive and it takes only a minute or two to run it and get them installed. Then go to windows updates and you are off to the races!!

I will disagree. Like people have said it’s not that hard to build one. You just have to put in the research but that research is worth the thousands. you could save yourself because you’re already gonna be paying more for pre built and once you start adding upgrades, you’ll have way more in it then you should for example, my first PC was pre-built. I went to upgrade it and would’ve been putting around $500 into upgrades bringing the total cost of that PC out to be more than if I just built a whole new one from scratch and it wouldn’t be as good as the one I built so needless to say, I sold that pre-built and just built one from scratch came out with more performance and less money spent

I helped my brother build his first custom gaming PC recently and he has no experience while I do. Not only was it good for the saving of money, but it was a good learning experience for him. If anything should happen to the computer, he has a good idea of where things are to begin looking on his own instead of relying on me or someone else. If anything, he can better tell someone what the issue might be and also help reduce the chance of getting taken advantage of. Kind of like someone who knows about cars not getting taken advantage of by a mechanic. If you aren’t knowledgeable or comfortable enough doing this, get someone who is to help you. It’s so worth it to do it on your own if you can. For me, I found it fun and would love the opportunity to do it again with someone else.

Upgradeability of pre-builts is often limited, especially when a proprietary low-power PSU is employed.

I think for me, go for pre-built first but research the parts then explore that pre built time to time. Next time you can slowly build your own, better practice with low end PC first.
