As an owner of a mk 7.5 fiesta ST I agree with the majority of your review but just wanted to point out a few things to your viewers: A standard fiesta ST has 182 bhp as standard with an overboost function producing 200bhp when used. The tuning package from Mountune increases the BHP by 15 over the standard car to 215bhp. But by far the most important information which you never mentioned in your review is the security on these vehicles. The standard security provided from Ford is as useful as a chocolate teapot. This means thieves target these vehicles specifically as they are so easy to steal and its for the following two reasons: The keyless entry means thieves can code a new key using a seperate hand held device in 30 seconds and drive it off. The standard vehicle alarm has a flaw whereby if you enter through the vehicles boot it doesn’t trigger. Anyone considering a Fiesta ST needs to at least take the following security measures should they purchase one: Use faraday pouches for your vehicle keys Purchase and use a disklok at all times Relocate the OBD port in the vehicle Install a secondary immobiliser Apart from the security issues the car is a great little fast hatch and petrol consumption is reasonable considering the performance. At worst all urban milage I get 280-300 to a tank and on long runs I’ve had as high as 540 (90% motorway at 70mph)

My son has had one from new, and he absolutely loves it. Treated like a member of the family, cosseted and loved beyond belief. Absolutely mint, and probably cleaner than the day he brought it home from the dealership 7 years ago. It is a hoot to drive, especially with the Mountune. It would be sacrilidge to sell it now, it really is that good..

Couldn't agree more with your review. Had a 2014 since 2018 and I absolutely love it every time I go anywhere. One thing I love is the (at the moment at least) reassurance that it's not rare. If I ding a door or scrape a bumper, I know I can get a cheap bumper from a car being broken down. Had my clutch and flywheel go at 95000 miles and cost me £1400 for the lot, genuine Ford parts as well. Thought about upgrading many times but nothing ticks as many boxes. Plus it really is one of those cars with the "soul" and "character" that every car journalist speaks of.

Bought a 2013 ST from new and loved it . Whilst working at a Royal Australian Airforce base I took a Aussie colleague for a spin down the taxi way on a Friday afternoon ( All the aviators were in the bar or on the beach). He was impressed with a comment of ( Bloody quick for a hairdresser car). You also have to add extra costs like replacement teeth as the ride is very firm. Took no notice of the backhanded comment as they only drive utes or huge 4 wheel drives that never go off road. Love your reviews mate and please keep um coming.

Agree with everything you said. Had it as a rental and loved it. Torque at every gear, pure joy to drive. The hard ride is not an issue if not using it every day. The only issue is that your passengers will hate the hard ride all the time. So more of a solo car to live life to the fullest

I love the Fiesta ST, even as a Focus ST owner. Just something about them. They look stylish, sporty and subtle. They drive better than most cars that cost a lot more, and still remain practical for every day use. This is a brilliant video, and as someone else commented, with the Fiesta coming to an end, the value will only go up. Same for the Focus as well.

Great video Matt and super informative 🙂 I've had my mk7 Zetec S a few years now and was looking to upgrade to the ST but it's the rate they are stolen that is definitely a concern. If anyone is looking to buy one I think a Disklok and a high end Clifford alarm/tracker is imperative. This one looks a superb example.

I put 16" wheels on my Fiesta ST and it smooths the ride out a lot without compromising the handling. Here in the US we only got the 5-door throughout the entire production run because they didn't ever offer a 3-door Fiesta here. A limited-slip diff will make a big difference and it also stops the car from going through front brake pads so quickly since that's how the torque vectoring works. It's worth considering having one fitted whenever the clutch slave cylinder fails (which is a pretty common failure). Turning off traction control makes the car accelerate MUCH faster even compared to sport mode, at least on the US-spec models. But you need to make sure you have good tires.

Great video and highly entertaining. I always found the Ford styling from this era looks like the creator of Transformers designed the interior. All those weird sharp shapes, round bulges and diagonal angles. It's in complete contrast to the modern minimalist designs where you'd be lucky to get a physical button anywhere.

i have had my 1.6 econetic 10 years now and its never missed a beat. i agree the dash and interior are a bit dull, but the ride and the styling have made me keep it all these years. Its still a lovely car to drive and i always get respect from the garages and mechanics i go to, purely because the engine is still perfect even after 177,000 miles. I will be sad when she dies.

The st-2 also comes with the hested recaro's but i ended up going down the route of an st-1 purely because they need a physical key to start them so much harder to be stolen than the st-2/3. Bought some second hand heated recaro's plug and play and it's made the car perfect!

The Fiesta ST is great fun. As a daily driver I would have to go with 16 inch wheels and tires to soften the ride. Getting rid of the heavy stock wheels has a nice side effect of improving the acceleration as well. The root cause of the choppy ride is the dampers and the wheel \tire set-up The springs are fine in stock form. But a set of Koni Sport dampers or M Koni STR-T dampers will transform the ride and handling of the Fiesta ST.

Accurate review. Test drove a good example and was almost instantly sold by it (I did check for the 2013 recall though). You really feel the massive amount of torque low down in the revs, steering is telepathic, gears give this lovely clunk that feel like a gated manual. Keyless is nice also coming from older fords with worn physical keys. It's simple but beautiful. The stereo isn't as good as on Mk2 focuses, for example but it's certainly not bad. 200hp and lightness is all anyone needs on public roads. Anymore and you start getting torquesteer. Though I will say the ride isn't as bad as is made out by many reviewers (As long as you aren't used to something like an old 5 series). I find it actually quite comfortable. If you get a stock example, It's not actually that loud either until you put your foot down. You can definitely drive it gently as a commuter. I was very impressed by it. It's fun but not mental. Pay for a good example you will have no regrets! Make sure to buy a disclock as these are very easy to steal unfortunately.

Most cars available looked like they had been modified or they were stage 1/2 with little paperwork. I love my 3 door 2015 Fiesta, it's red so it goes faster. Brilliant handling cars and OK mines not a ST or a ecoboom engine, but I think it's the best looking Fiesta ever made, better than the latest. Watch for leaking boots on these cars, easy fix tbh. Cheers Matt.

I had most all the fiesta st's and focus st's and currently own focus mk4 st and your right about the door rubbers and the mk4 is no different 2021 and within two weeks the driver door rubbers literally all come off simply because they are just stuck on with double sided tape! But you just can't beat a fast Ford for sheer driving fun😍

I just watched the last three uploads Jimny/Quattroporte/Fiesta due to my long work hours I tend to binge watch my (Favourite 😁) channels. Anyway I run a Ls 430 and a Jeep Commander both V8’s and pass a very lovely Quattroporte nearly every day on my way to dropping my daughter off to school and seriously desire one but just lately I could live with a well sorted Jimny yep even with the torrential tropical rain we get here in North Queensland 🇦🇺 easier on my wallet and just suits.

I think Matt has missed the sizeable elephant in the room… here in the South East at least you can be fairly certain that if you go out and dare to park it somewhere, it will not be there when you return 😂

We've had two of these stolen, and another attempted with a break-in. It's a shame as they're a brilliant hot hatch, it's just a prime target for thieves.

I loved my mk7 fiesta st3 but i sold it due to so many being stolen in the area even with a steerling lock on I still didn't want to leave it anywhere such a shame because it was a fantastic little car

I have one and when I first test drove one I thought I cannot buy one because the ride is just so firm. But I couldn't think of any other car that was as fun and yet compact and practical at the same time. I bought the second one I tried and that was around seven months ago. I'm used to the ride now and don't notice how firm it is anymore. The handling is ridiculous you always feel like it'll get around any corner although in the current cold weather I think it's best I don't take it for granted.

I got my ST3 brand new in 2016 and kept it for 6 years, never had a single problem or MOT advisory. The only things that needed replacing due to wear and tear were the rear bushes and the usual tyres and brakes ( although the tyres lasted surprisingly well). The ride quality is very tiring and the paintwork is ridiculously soft (stone chips ahoy). Real world mpg was about 38 average but would do nearly 50 on the motorway sitting at 65mph. Insurance was decent (about £280) but I was terrified to leave it anywhere due to how easy they are to steal. The quick clear screen is amazing though and the heated seats were great the 2 settings being a) did I just wet myself and b) I’ve just sat in napalm. I think it’s a great car, a throwback to ‘proper’ hot hatches when you had crappy interiors but a great driving experience. Mine was 17k new and sold it for 10k so depreciation wasn’t too bad. You can’t actually turn off the traction control completely just almost off. Great video, Matt!

Just bought a 1.0 Ecoboost (has a few cosmetic mods from vudu and rear ST diffuser etc) it’s £0 and £20 last months (even with the £1.80 prices!) Had an Audi s3 (380hp) beforehand but get wanted a car under £10k for work and the nursery run! And get more enjoyment from the manual fiesta than the Audi!
