Its true about them groms. I had a 2017 grom and put a little over 56k miles on it, sold it to a friend and he still using it for deliveries and still going on original engine.

Clone gas tank leaks like every year and my friend and I just weld it but yeah I just picked up a grom unless you want to put a ton of work into it so I 100 percent agreed with what your are saying

Well I do think all Gy6's are not equal. Original manufacturer was taiwanese Kymco, and well I do have one from 2006. 50cc model. Has about 15 000km(about 10 000miles) in it (I bought it at 2019 cheaply from previous owner who had it sitting in his garage for years. At that point it had just 3000 km in it, about 2000 miles). Never have left me on roadside, engine still purrs like new, checked valve clearances at 10 000 km, still in original setting...But well I do follow manufacturers recommedation about oil changes. Only mineral oil, and it needs to changed every 1500km or 1000 miles. And I do check things mentioned on my third party service manual. Edit I have done rather longish road trips with it, 400 km in one case....

You'll go through 5 - 10 Chinese in the lifetime of Honda . If you don't know how to work on them , DO NOT BUY IT . All Chinese Motorsports are a 1 yr ride . Sell at 1 yr

Bs when i lived in jamaica 🇯🇲 Chinese bikes are all over the places ik a fraind who had a zamco 150 with balance shaft and a 250 yeng yeng both for 5 years and he only sold it caz he wanted a 2020 zamco they are pretty bullet proof wen maintained on time Americans think caz it being Chinese the can run it hard and rough and expect it not to break .the country China is new to the building of vehicles but give them a chance i like Chinese stuff based on Japanese engineering Asian knw how to build proper stuff Chinese bikes run the whole African continent there dat reliable
