In this video you'll meet Steve Zeigler, the Director of Business Development for Prevost and we'll discuss many of the aspects of Prevost coaches that separate it from the pack as it relates to recreational motorhomes.
Topics in this video include: Safety, Availability of Service, Maintenance and of course, Technology.
Comments and opinions are welcomed.
And, for those of you who have been following Andy's search for a full size luxury motorhome, this video and the companion story at www.GadgetGuru.com will tell you why he chose a Marathon Prevost coach conversion over all the other motorhome companies he's researched during his search.
To read the story behind this story and to learn how this interview took place and why Andy chose a Prevost Marathon conversion, you can read the rest of the story at: www.gadgetguru.com/prevost-for...
There's more motorhome reviews and videos coming soon and the easiest way to be notified is by liking my Facebook page at: / thegadgetguru and of course you can Subscribe to my KZfaq channel here: / @thegadgetguru

The gadget Guru is very thorough and informative, and I've been following the entire series re:" How do you learn to drive an RV". My one complaint is, (we know how intelligent and thorough you are), but I for one would like to hear everything the guest expert has to say. Otherwise why invite an expert to interview. I am on the borderline between buying a new "customized" Foretravel, a new "Custom" Newell" or a recent Used (Pre-owned certified) Prevost. Price points are about the same. I currently own a Newmar Mountain Aire, that was purchased new. It was what I could afford @ the time and it has served me well. I have not had a lot of repairs, other then those caused by me (hurrying or inexperience). If I decide against getting any of the three coaches mentioned here, I will get a New Newmar King Aire. The Only reason why I'm looking at the other three, is because I have more of an opportunity to get customized floor plan touches. Most of the top end class A dp's have accident avoidance systems tied into cruise control, brakes, and engine braking, the new ones will warn 1st then stop the coach if necessary. Three I know of have tubular steel frames that are part of the chasis. several have passive steering tag axles, and computer assisted steering. I realize you just purchased a Prevost and are proud (rightly so) about your unit, but you sound like a paid mouthpiece for them. Let get back to objectivity.....

I have been to the factory in St Claire back in the early to mid 90"s seeing them (the h3"s ) being made that was very impressive. Seeing the new what i call the working girls on you tube gives me a bad case of i wants. I drove a marathon xl in the mid 80"s with a slandered from Conasuer of Montreal that has gotten sum of Prevost promotional coaches back then. They have come a long way. Looking good Prevost.

Andy. Thank you & Great job! your videos are of a great benefit to me and I'm sure many others. I just started watching and my first reaction is thank you for interviewing prevost. Your comments about how important the chassis is, is right on target and my favorite comment so far is regarding how the Prevost chassis do two million miles by Greyhound and how for the RV Market it's Overkill since most owners do far less mileage, which is exactly what I'm looking for. I'd certainly would rather have a product that's ten times better than it should be as opposed to ten times worse than it should be. the larger RV Market with all its quality problems is what I'm looking to avoid. I want Quality!

Thanks HB! I have a car with a 490 HP engine and honestly, I don't think I've ever used half the power. But it's nice to know that it's built to exceed my needs. How's that for a comparison?

Yup. 490 hp or even 600 hp would come in handy however 1000 hp on a street legal vehicle would be unnecessary overkill. Quality construction & solid long-term reliability on a $2000000 vehicle is a whole other ball game

First question "why a Prevost?" Because they have had an unrealistic monopoly forever. Well that has finally ended with REV Group signing Diamler-Benz for Setra bus shells. Competition will only make things better. And I would pick a MB Setra over Volvo's Prevost everytime, like I would pick a Paccar truck over a Volvo Freightliner. There are real differences underneath the skin.

Hi Andy, thanks for creating the Newby series this series will do a great job in showing why Prevost over other makers. Unless you created it and share the link already can you explain, How to choose between a X-3 vs H3-45 and what are the differences between the two beyond the look and height of the chassis. Thanks for the great work as always!
@TheGadgetGuru
@TheGadgetGuru 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bob! As a Newbie I still have more to learn before I can explain these differences or be one to give this type of advice, but I can share with you what I learned during my shopping process. I'll say upfront that the differences can fall under the category of personal preference and usage requirements. As stated just the exterior appearance is an obvious difference and the H3 is known to have taller bay spaces. However, with the newer X3 chassis, the height is similar to that of the H3 and both of the interiors offer high ceilings. To the potential purchaser, there are some differences that could assist in narrowing down choices during the selection process. Two that come to mind are the lower driving position of the H3 causes a separation between the cockpit and the living area along with additional stairs between the cockpit and living area and can have an effect on living space. Since the H3 can include up to four slides, while that is a welcomed addition to some and adds notable interior living area when parked, everything has trade-offs. Depending on the interior layout, since he additional slide mechanisms require space, they can take away interior usage/storage space. The various converters handle this differently and some are very creative in their designs and layouts. This is one reason why it's helpful to attend shows such as the annual Prevost-Stuff.com show as well as various rallies where you can tour models and meet with the converters to experience the differences yourself. However, when the coaches are on display at these shows it's typical for the slides to be extended to showcase the interior living areas. So, if you're seriously considering a specific coach, don't be shy in asking for a demonstration with the slides in. One factor some consider a downside of having slides on the passenger side is, that when extended, they can somewhat block the passenger side storage bays and you'll need to be careful not to bump your head when using these bays. The other downside is the passenger slides consume the recreational space and when the awnings are extended, as there's less shaded space. Yes, more Prevost related videos are coming soon so don't forget to subscribe to my KZfaq channel: kzfaq.info/love/4eseHiXksYJLHL3YqIEBeQ Whenever I do a video I publish the "story behind the story" and many times add details that weren't mentioned in the video. Looking at the estimated lifespan (or greater) mentioned of 2m miles - and the avg driving miles coast to coast in the 48 states (around 3k) that's 666.666 trips. You may now throw devil horns. That's interesting that the DOT is allergic to driving assist, when planes have had autopilot and landing assist for decades (and they carry a lot more passengers than 50).

They say Sammy Davis Jr. had the same problem. Instead of interviewing the guest, you interview yourself. Quite incredible really. After a few moments I started skipping through to listen to the guest but almost every time I did that it was you yammering! With a subject this common you should have 10 times as many subscribers as you do. I couldn't make it through a single video without bailing!!!
