I hate it for the stacked buttons I like lined shoulder buttons for fighting games I ONLY LIKE STACKED BUTTONS ON first person shooters which retro hand helds cannot play well But u know what they do play well aecades and fighting games so logically lined clicky buttons that line up str8 with soft punch medium punch and hard punch in a line and on bottom light kick medium kick and hard kick plus u dont have to move ur finger off the r1 button to kick with the r2 button alittle lower when the buttons are in kine 1 fi ger resting on both trust me feeels 100times better eveeyone saying wish it had stacked shoulder buttons never owned a retro hand held

@@dextersbeard3472 depends on the option you choose. You can order it together with an SD card containing lots of games which will cost you around 10 bucks more.

Yeah on Drastic you can switch which screen is the left or right or full screen.

The reason the 353p exists is because it's in the form factor of an snes controller. It's a one-off concept. Ballooning the entire console to fit a 5-7 inch screen wouldn't make sense. Also, they already have the rg552

@@richarddukard8989 Well, like I said in another comment. If the RG552 and RG503 had a 4:3 aspect ratio display with the ANBERNIC logo, it would have looked a whole lot better. In other words I wish those consoles looked exactly like the RG351MP but with the larger 5 or 7 inch displays. I never liked that stretched widescreen display look. Because the screen is stretched horizontally, you might as well just get the RG353P or RG351MP over the RG503 because the displays are nearly the same height. Rather than appearing to be a larger display, it looks as if it's still a 3.5 inch display that has been stretched horizontally to add an extra two inches or more. I'm assuming it's done this way to make it more pocket friendly.

@@richarddukard8989 If they can make this SNES based RG353P with a 3.5 inch screen, they can make a 5 inch version of this as well if they really wanted to. Again, I'm not hating on the RG353P, I think it's a very nice handheld. Some of us just want the added option of purchasing this RG353P in a 5 inch version keeping the 4:3 aspect ratio (some would prefer even a 7 inch version). Especially, those of us who already have their fair share of 3.5 inch handheld consoles. And I'm not talking about the stretched displayed RG552 and RG503, without the ANBERNIC logo.

Yeah see, I had a plan to buy the RP2+ next month. All set to order it when I get some money on the 1st. Then this video popped up. I'm now trying to decide which one to get. This, or the rp2+. I don't know anything about chipsets and stuff. But at first glance, they seem to be super similar. The biggest differences being that this runs Android 11 as opposed to Retroid's Android 9. This has Linux too (though just Android seems to do everything I need it to, so I don't even know if I'd ever use the Linux side of things). They both have a touch screen, the same amount of buttons, 5g wifi, Bluetooth. The Retroid has a 4000mAh battery compared to this having a 3500. They both have 2gb of ram. And most importantly, they both seem to run the same level of games, peaking at like, PSX, PSP, DS, N64, and Dreamcast. So the only major differences I see that'd effect me are the Android versions, battery life, and console shape. I don't know if that's worth an extra $40 compared to the RP2+. I don't know if I'm missing something or not, that'd make it worth the extra money. So I'm scrolling through comments trying to decide.

@@TXFDA Something you may want to consider, the right "joystick" on the RP2+ really holds it back IMO. Apparently it's a digital dpad or something? It's not a regular joystick like the left joystick. You basically can't play any shooters on it, even though they run fine, it's impossible to move around precisely.

Custom firmware was the only sort of saving grace for the RG552. If you got stuck with one like I did, the ability to run cfw Android 11 from Black Seraph with the ability to use a Switch pro controller made it a decent streaming console for my upstairs TV. Still nowhere near worth the asking price today, but back in late 2021, it was the only game in town that had availability on the shelves ready to ship.

I'm not so sure about the RG552, I've never had one nor tend to get one. But I do know that the RG353P is much better than the RG503 and the RG351 handhelds.

Same, I have the 2+ and if it can run PS2 roms better at that extra $50 then it might be worth it. Otherwise the 2+ is better in my opinion.

In short, no. The performance of the RP2+ is better than the 353P. However, the form factor and usability is better on the 353 with the newer version of Android and dual boot with Linux. The screens are similar with a slight edge to the RP2+. If your nostalgia for the SNES overrides your need of $40-50, then the 353P is worth a purchase. Otherwise, the RP2+ is a better go.

The RP2+ should outperform this on just about every level.

if you dont mind the ergonomics of the device, and the thumb stick placements it's stronger. otherwise people might enjoy holding this snes style controller more.

@@jonathandiaz3366 I love these types of questions! That is a rather tough one. I have the RG351MP and it has proven to be one of Anbernics very best. I'd say in your situation, I would get the RG353P. It has a better chip, it's dual boot and has stacked shoulder buttons and a rare design overall compared to all the other brick shaped handhelds. The RG353P is a rather sleek and beautifully designed handheld. I'm assuming you have not gotten neither yet. I already have the RG351MP as well as the RG351V so I'm not in a hurry to get an RG353P if I decide to. I'm looking forward to possibly getting the Anbernic Win600, but not in a rush to get it either.

@@jonathonearl482 this would be my first retro handheld aside from my OG gameboy advance SP but it stopped reading cartridges so it's time I get an upgrade. But there are so many and I'm stuck between these two 😳

@@m.r.8823 the Retroid Pocket 2+ is more powerfull and is $30 cheaper. I don't really see why anyone would buy this unless they just have to have this shape.

Pretty much, all the kiddies can have their 16:9 screens and analog controls on top, give me a perfect 4:3 device that can scale perfectly with scanlines and not have to deal with glowing black bars on the sides or ugly bezel jpegs.
