In this video, I share common ways women in Japan style sleeveless tops and dresses. Also I think I kept saying the word "modest" in the video, but maybe "conservative" is more accurate?

📝More tips (time stamps at bottom): 1. Maybe reconsider wearing clothing items that look like underwear (like sports bras as tops, etc.) 2. Also maybe reconsider very tight clothing (depending on the occasion). If you do want to wear something tight, try to balance the outfit with looser bottoms (or vice versa). Also, I kept using the word “modest”, but maybe “conservative” is more accurate? Thank you for your response :D This is super helpful. I always feel it's important to try to be respectful of local cultures and I sort of hit a wall trying to figure out what I could wear comfortably without looking underdressed or inappropriate by local standards. I’m also on the curvier side, particularly in the bust, so I wanted to be conscious of things like necklines and how much of my body shape I’m showing. It can get confusing when what I’ve found flattering and casual in the west becomes much bolder or revealing in Japan. I mean I don’t expect to perfectly blend in, but I don’t want to stand out for the wrong reasons either. Reading too many online lists and guides had me thinking I’d have to sweat in turtlenecks or be shamed for indecent exposure so your videos have been a breath of fresh air. I’m loving the idea of a loose dress shirt over a high-neck tank or a sheer coverup. I’d have never thought of a vest either, but I’m digging the vertical lines. Anyway I’ve definitely got some wardrobe shuffling to do before my trip

I’m so grateful for your channel. I’m about to leave Japan from my holiday but the fashion here is a dream! It was so so hot but everyone looked so stylish, even when dressing casually. I will definitely miss it when I go back to Australia where the fashion is nothing compared to Japan 😭

Thank you for this video! I’m heading to Japan in June, so I wasn’t too sure what would be okay for the summer time >.

Well...June is considered rainy season, so you'll have to keep that in mind lol. As for blocking the sun, I usually just use a sun umbrella! That way I don't have to think too much about clothing lol

If you were speaking about another country’s modest dress standards I wonder if the tone/comments would be different 🤔

I’m sorry, can you be more specific? I really struggled with how to give advice and commentary with this video.
