A gallon of water per day is good for us right?
MMMMmmmm. Uhhhhhhhhhh
Now there's this thing called cellular hydration which is the process and efficiency of how water molecules reach our cells and how they get utilized.
So proper cellular hydration is pretty important but it a little more nuanced than just slamming ridiculous amounts of water.
One of the most important things to consider here is that when you consume foods and liquids with minerals in them your cells become much more hydrated.
So you shouldn’t just drink water to drink water. You have to make sure that there are minerals in it, like sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium in it.
So for me if you're mineral deficient, drinking beverages like coconut water, watermelon juice, and eating fruit can be incredibly helpful. Also, mineral water works great too.

You get minerals from food you eat too, you don’t have to drink special water to absorb it, just make sure you eat food daily… pretty sure everyone does that.

Im a human waterfall when it comes to sweat. So input has to match output. If it's really bad, 2 gallons in a day.

Take at least 5 grams of sodium per day it will keep you hydrated, you don’t need 2 gallons of water per day it will make you urinate all the minerals in your body

Drink electrolytes and pink/unrefined salt daily first thing in the morning. This makes hydration easier throughout the day as it preps the body to absorb the maximum amount of nutrients from water. The salt is the main catalyst for this. You really could get away with just the 1/2 teaspoon of unrefined salt with about 500-700 ml of water.

What is a great "alternative" to water? Im struggling with OCD (i also got ADHD and autism on the spectrum) and going teough exposure and response prevention treatment. I got a traumatic experience from food/water and lost 35+ pounds... Cant consume more than 6dl water per day and drinking nutritiondrinks that complements real meals.

Pro tip: all the “electrolyte blends” are bs. You only need 3 things. Pure Sodium salt, pure potassium salt, and a magnesium salt or trace mineral liquid. Calculate the amount you need for your weight/gender in a day and consume maybe a little less than half that in water. (If you’re especially unhealthy by American standards then DONT neglect potassium. “Too much sodium” is far more often than not a potassium deficiency.)

@@ThingsILove2266 no that is vastly different type of salt. Also it’s been shown that doesn’t always absorb magnesium the best. For consumption use regular salt, potassium salt, and for magnesium consumption the easiest and best is usually a trace mineral liquid bottle. I get one from brand concentrace. 1/2 tsp is 250mg(60%RDA) There isn’t a good salt salt for food to get magnesium. However people underestimate the importance of potassium salt added to food and it’s so easy and so cheap.
