And then at 5:38 he does a 180 and says you *can* feed honey. If it comes from your own hives. Everyone knew not to introduce possibly contaminated honey, right? Hes is a time waster. I thought he was going to give a reason why you shouldn't feed honey.

Hello, good to know. I don't know how many people know not to feed their bees honey. The only reason why I know not to is by watching your video and others that have bees. Thank you for sharing, God bless, stay safe and have a wonderful and blessed Merry Christmas.

I love your intro. Hilarious. We do a double deep for the winter. Hardest thing for us is staying out of our hives to see if their still alive. Never thought about buying honey to feed the bees because sugar is so much cheaper. Good video.

Yes! I couldn’t believe someone would do that! A lot of none beekeepers will put honey out to feed the bees, not knowing they could be spreading disease! Where I live a lot of folks use a deep and a shallow in the winter but I use a deep and a medium.

Big mistake to give outside harvest honey from other beekeepers to your bees & also big mistake to give process sugar to your bees the natural way is to leave at least 10 kg honey for winter back or one super hive back to the bees and one for u!!! Bio natural way...

Store honey can also have lots of corn syrup in them. Especially stuff from china that you can buy for cheap at Wal-Mart. That causes gut diseases. So good video. Just adding info.

So I'm a very small beekeeper (and new) - 3 hives. I don't sell honey - I'm doing it just for the bees. My 2nd year - I split my hive twice this year so went from 1 to 3 this year - sticking at 3. I'm going to be taking off my honey supers in the coming week - my plan is to bottle up honey and mark what hive it came from - and use that in feeders for them to build up the reserves in their brood boxes (I do 3 med boxes in winter - NW Ohio). I did syrup last year to my only hive but then again I didn't take a drop of honey from them all year. I have more honey that I know what to do with - everyone will be getting honey for Christmas from what we already have and have probably 24-32 frames I'll need to harvest in the coming weeks - so figured store in buckets and use that as their feed. so even if one hive has issues - not even contaminating within my apiary. That sound like an ok plan? cause to me makes sense to give the girls back what they made - and actually cheaper for me that I don't have to buy tons of sugar.

Sure that will work. Only issue I see is if it’s to cold the bees might not be able to get to the added honey frames. Bees can starve when there’s honey just a frame away and it’s too cold for them to break cluster. I guess another potential issue I see is opening and disturbing the hives too much in the winter. From thanksgiving to end of Feb I really don’t open my hives except for the top cover to add pollen Patties and sugar water.

I found a struggling honey bee this spring. He/she looked exhausted! I put a drop of organic honey in front of him, and they started eating immediately! It might be a male or female that's life cycle is over, but I watched them eat and perk up before he flew away! I knew it was just one bee, but I want to help if I can. I'm sad to learn that it might have hurt the hive rather than helped 😢

If you watching this video, it means you're concern regarding whether to feed your bees honey or not! Well, I am concerned and that's why am here. Well, in my country we have main three seasons, October "Jujube season", Spring "Acacia tortilis" and summer summer flowers, so, I don't like harvesting the summer season, thus, I was thinking of harvest it and keep it for the best to give it back to them when there is no nectar flow..even though, lots of my friends on WhatsApp bee's groups who keeps saying to me Don't feed the bees pure honey, honestly am not convinced by this statements, Now i guess I've found the answer. Thanks a lot.

Buying honry from the grocery store to feed the bees is the worst thing you can feed them. Only about 10% of the honey mass marketed in the US is pure honey. Most the the stuff you buy commercially is cut with things like sugar syrup corn syrup or HFC. HFC by the way is one thing you should NEVER feed your bees. Many countries have even outlawed it for human food.
