It is recommended to iron screen print paint, but it is not mandatory.
I wanted to test the difference between ironed and not ironed paint. So I painted an image onto a 100% cotton T-shirt with Texilac Coloranti and Texilac Polimer 2000 silkscreen paints (you need to mix them).
I ironed the right side of the image through a thin cotton cloth after the paint had thoroughly dried. I did it for three minutes with the hottest possible setting (the iron was always moving).
Then I washed the shirt on a delicate wash cycle and turned it inside out. After the third wash cycle, you can clearly see the difference between ironed and not ironed parts of the image.
I believe this is important information for everybody using screen printing paints.
