Is it better to have the same brand of golf clubs throughout your bag, or should you find what fits your swing? Let’s look to some of the players currently on tour!

In this video we go over the benefits of having all the same brands in the bag, as well as picking out the best clubs to suit your golf game. Many PGA Tour player have the same clubs throughout their bag, but is this only due to club contracts? Would they mix up their golf bag if it weren’t for the money?
We look at Brooks Koepka as an example of a PGA Tour player that has chosen not to sign a deal with with a golf club manufacturer. We go over what’s in Brooks Koepka’s bag, and talk about his reason for choosing the clubs he has (some of them NOT being the latest and greatest).

I was fitted with cobra driver, Taylor made 3w, callaway paradym 4h, and ping irons and wedges. That’s what works for me.

I have a mixed bag, I'm stubborn about using this old putter and it's mostly just comfortable and feels best for me. I'm glad. Someone told me I have to use a whole set of the same irons and he's further ahead than me....but I'm going with your advice.

Nice! Yeah, it would be eye opening to see if every tour player got to choose each individual club in the bag. We are willing to bet the majority of tour players would have a mixed bag.

As far as I can tell, there is only one advantage to using single brand for irons or wedges: guaranteed, consistent gapping. This would make it easier to estimate how far each club goes. The more you mix the bag, the more important it is to be sure how far each goes. Myself, I'm also playing a mixed bag currently. My driver, 3 Wood, and 7 wood are Callaway warbird. My 5-7 irons are Hogen Edge improvement. My 7 through pitching wedge are Black Dot Eye2s. My Gap through Lob wedges are kirklands, and my Putter is a Wilson M5.

For the iron set, that is for sure helpful for gapping. Once you get to wedges, woods, and driver, it’s not too bad go off of loft and figure out the gaps. Thanks for your comment!

I have titleist u510 4 iron, titlesit ap 1 for my 5,7,8,9, and pitching wedge. But my 6 iron is a callaway big bertha. That club is is my canon. I love my titleist clubs and can't imagine ever switching them up but the big bertha is my most reliable club in every situation, especially needed in the rough. Mixed bags work because you keep what works best for you. It may not look as pretty, but style doesn't lower your handicap

@@GolfAscending yeah, no problem! Thx for your videos. Since have an interesting bag, i alway appreciated what other club combos ppl use. It definitely looks cooler when all my irons are titleist ap1's. But after a lot of trial and error, I realized the big bertha 6 iron is just my perfect club. I don't understand why, i make all the other irons soar when i pure them, plus theyre titlest's best clubs since the DCI 822's imo, but the 6 iron was the club i always relied on it before purchasing the a1's, and I always considered it my most reliable iron, so why change what works. I put a pretty dope grip on it and use a cool looking iron cover so the change doesn't stand out as much. But it's probably the only club I'll never replace, despite which clubs I buy

I think mixing between different categories is pretty normal (driver / woods / irons / hybrids etc) but mixing within a category would defintely mess with my game (like having 5 different brands of irons etc).

For sure. Utility irons and wedges, no biggie, but anything within 5-PW should definitely stay the same, especially for gapping reasons.
