Doesn't matter how many hours you have. If devs are fucking up you have every right to downvote it.

I find it odd someone will spend $70 on a RPG, do one play through and shelve it without a second thought but the same person spends $70 on a another game and demand the devs keep adding content for decades.

I'm 7k hrs in NW, a real pvp sweaty. The combat is like nothing else you will find. We're just so frustrated that the Devs didn't do some basics to keep us invested and taking our money. The game modes are great, the world is great, the combat is great, the gathering and crafting system is great. But those things were there from day 1. And you can tell the team that put that together had real passion. But the current team didn't get it. They didn't get that you just need to build everything around that system. But they kept putting their time I to content that you could burn in a week that was cut and paste of existing stuff. They made clown skins in the shop so we didn't buy them. They need structure pvp, more maps, and keep refreshing existing content for pvers

I've just started on Tuesday. Without any knowledge about this drama behind it. So far enjoying the game, however you have to say that, there is not many low level players around. You need to get 65 asap to be able to do some group content.

You spend 40€ and can enjoy it for a few hundret hours. I wish it had more endgame, the pvp hab more maps and some of the system were better thought out, but after the initial buy its free. how can you hate on that deal.

Like Asmon said, Steam really need to change this system. You can be allowed to do a comment about the game with those hours, but not something that affects the review status. Because a lot of buyers check just this status and don't read through or analyse why this is red and realise it's a bad review storm our of current disappointment and not because game is bad itself.

The issue is that people play MMORPGs more like an investment, not pure fun such as League of Legends, God of War, etc. Once they realize the specific MMORPG has no future anymore, all that time invested was wasted.

The devs are liars and you dont get content when they say if ever but i think everyone forgets that they are not paying per month for the game like most mmos. So i agree for the money you can get a lot of hours out of the game. I love it even if its broken

There is a difference. The effort seemed sincere while we knew the game was lacking. There were promises of improvements and content that never arrived and the original reviews were partly based on that. The big hyped up June announcement and what it delivered to the actual players put the sincerity of last three years in question at worst and made the whole studio look incompetent idiots at best. I consider these as valid reasons to change my review into mostly negative. The original review was written in "honeymoon" mode and new one with the hindsight that I was bamboozled.

It's recommended or not recommended, not they play or don't play. If you have played a live service game for 5000 hours but you don't like the current state of the game not recommending it makes perfect sense.

Anyone who starts playing an mmo. Doesn’t expect to hit a wall in for years in 300 hours lol

Hours in MMOs means nothing, you can spend literaly 500 hours mining rocks, watching netflix on second monitor, is it fun? maybe for few dozens hours at start, not for hundreds, you are literaly on autopilot and won’t remember a thing from the whole grinding process, but people do that so they can be ready for another CONTENT update, if that content is not coming or not in quantity/quality needed, all those 500 hours become worthless... I would always prefer new unique REPLAYABLE content over, well, nothing

I still wouldn't recommend the game, half of my time in this game is spent waiting in queue. Looking for group transferring servers inventory management. Dealing with bugs. Logging in and out because of UI glitch. Lots of Bot farmer and so many grind purposely put by the devs to extend your play time. You gotta understand the dev lied so many times already. I suggest watching asmongold video in full so ppl can understand what the context of his video about 5k hours and down voting. I love new world and willing to support them if they are honest transparent and treats us the community more like a family.

the downvotes are well deserved.. Having hundreds, thousands of hours doesn't invalidate their reviews if anything you know those people played and know the game well enough to come to the conclusion not to recommend it with how things have panned out

At best, the devs are incompetent. At worst, they lied to PC players.

You can say the guy that only play 3.5 hours didn’t play enough to realize how ass the game actually is. While those that spent 1000 hours have explored everything and are more qualified to write a bad review. They probably thought things would get better and were full of copium 🤷‍♂️. Either way the game truly is ass
