The iPhone XS was released back in 2018, to pretty much universal acclaim. People had got used to the notched new iPhone design, and this was essentially just refining what made the original iPhone X good. However, should you consider picking one of these up in 2022?

This is my favorite phone design. I bought mine used last year and love it. I actually down graded from a 12 pro max (I definitely didn’t need the cameras & it was ridiculously oversized). I miss when I phones were the size, shape & thickness of the xs. The current design is uncomfortable/awkward to hold.

At the time it was released it seemed like a boring iPhone with nothing different from the iPhone X, but can we talk about how much better the iPhone XS is in the camera than the iPhone X? Smart HDR really was a giant step up for the XS, plus for the first time colors for example reds looked perfect on camera while colors were a bit washed out on the X. This and the A12 Bionic that it’s definitely ahead of the A11 Bionic

Yep. There’s actually an article saying that apple undersold by quoting just 15% improvement in a12 bionic over a11. It is faster than what is advertised.

I bought a Xs 64GB Gold at the begining of the year and that's exactly the video I've been waiting for months! It's a great device and I'll keep for a long time! I'll make sure to replace the battery after the summer too!

I’ve upgraded to 13 and gave the xs to my dad but to be honest if you can’t fully use the full potential of the a15 chip performance both are very comparable in a normal use (Social media,call,text,videos,camera) it’s just like a 2-3 second difference. There are differences like no night mode, no mag safe but still supports wireless charging, battery screen on time, dolby support etc but still it’s a very descent phone.

Upgraded from 7 to XS in February, and I’m still glad I chose this model (thanks, Amazon Renewed). Love the shape, the stainless steel and the OLED. Obviously the battery’s not awe inspiring but, as you said, it’s 4 years old. Have to say, I’m currently running the iOS 16 Beta and, apart from one of my banking apps refusing to work, I’m very happy with it. Would definitely recommend.

I upgraded from 7+ to XS because my screen shattered. I also got mine from Amazon Renewed! Came in excellent condition. Battery health at 85 buts that’s ok. It lasts all day still. No complaints (:

I was considering to buy the Xs in a couple weeks. Mainly because i want to make content about the iphone for my channel and i also want to use the camera of the iphone to record videos for those none iphone content. Thanks for the vid.

though its rated ip68, I wouldn't recommend it coming in contact with ANY kind of moisture. the oled itself is seperating from the frame due to wear and tear (keep in mind, it's a 4 years old phone!). be very careful, even if you replaced the waterproofing seal, it is susecptible to the slightest of water damage. i learned that the hard way by breaking the faceid/ribbon module, got lucky that it can be repaired around $50. nice vid btw!

Bought a refurbished one today and it should get here in 3 days. Kind of excited, kind of worried about how well the battery life is, but overall content with the price I paid for it. I love older iphones, especially the first SE so hopefully this one won't let me down. I'll try and remember to update

@@jetta2707 Thank you for the reminder!! So far so good. The battery is at 74% capacity but the overall health of the battery is still good according to what my phone is telling me. I’ll buy a new battery if it comes down to it, but other than that it works great on the most updated software and it’s still snappy as my iphone 11 was. Camera is great/good enough for me, and what I missed most about iPhone when I was briefly with Samsung was the ability to send quality videos. Samsung still compresses and crops any video you may want to send so the quality goes way down and comes out blurry. Not fun. Seems like iPhone is still doing great when it comes to software. Even with an “older” model phone it still is better than any other Samsung phone.

Coming from iphone 7, the Xs's screen is too tall for me, especially when trying to reach the top buttons (some UI elements that has never been changed since the first iphone). Reachability function is not that easy to trigger compared to iphones with home button.

Great first iPhone but slightly dated design now coming up to 5 years, I think still buy over the original X but if you have a bit of extra cash get an 11 because it’s totally worth it in the long run. Only thing I really like about it is the gold colour which really stands out to me and the small camera bump.

Have you tested iOS 16 beta on this phone? If so, how’s the performance? I upgraded from iOS 13.1.3 to 15.6.1 and the performance is still the same which is impressive. But iOS 16 makes me second guess. It might be a downhill in terms of performance.

Gonna buy my first iphone xs max 64gb from my colleague for 245$ in a couple of days. Which I think is quite nice as the potential complete migration from Android.

If you want better batterie life bigger screen take iphone 11 If you want a compact iphone oled screen premium design and its okay for you to charge your phone 2 times per day then take iphone xs i owned both and im having the xs now amazing iphone for me

Funnily enough my XS Max has been under water in pools,rivers,waterfalls & multiple cannonballs in all sorts of water bodies. Of course i did that knowing the risk it’ll be dead when i come outta the water BUT luckily its still going strong in 2022✌🏽

I’m truly sad I had iPhone XS for about 3 years lovely phone light ! easy to handle with one hand no stupidly huge camera bumps only issue I had was battery health was getting low and iPhone storage kept saying full on system data I got sick of it sold it and just got iPhone 14 pro I’m telling u display wise I didn’t notice no difference in display image 14 pro is slightly bigger but that makes it harder to hold but apart from that only thing big difference is speakers my hand hurts holding this phone keep touching camera lens on 14 pro it’s just too heavy not practical for everyday use unless u have big strong hands who doesn’t mind huge camera bump now I can send this phone back and get refund but now I don’t know what to get buy xs again for more expensive price with marks scratches on it when it’s refurbished my xs that I sold was physically perfect condition

It’s a great Device especially for someone who doesn’t do gaming, the screen is extremely good (better than the iPhone 11) and ofc it’s affordable! I’d recommend it! Owned one for 3 years before upgrading a couple of months ago. Compared to my 12 pro max only noticeable difference is the camera quality which is not a huge difference, only noticeable when compared to newer iPhones. Overall I’d highly recommend!

If this is your main phone then get the 12. If this will be 1 of 2 phones then get the mini. But for most the bigger 12 screen will help you not regret later

I loved this phone design, colour and camera format but the screen hurt my eyes, see 3:01 :( I can only use the 13 pro max because the higher refresh rate and my pupils cannot pick up the flicker.
