not saying that using heavy bands is totally useless, but hear me out:
if you were to predominantly use heavy bands and high volume for training, you would see way less progress than if you were to use light band and less volume. That's my point of the video. Im not saying that you can't combine both however, but keep this in mind :), thank you for watching!

I want to commit to a planche routine and actually stick to it for 6-8 weeks. I watched your how to planche video and this is the routine I’m going to follow: pike/handstand push-up progressions. And Dynamic planche lean. After a while I’ll attempt advanced tucks. Does this sound like a solid plan ?

Also, if i train for the planch and I know that i am not close to it but with the 35 kg band i can get 8-16 sec so why shouldn't i use it? Isn't it better because i am in the right 1rm percent and the full planch with the heavy band train me to the right forward lean while the tuck planch will change the angle completely

I am a bit confused by your arguments. You are saying specificity is the key and if you use heavy band it's completely different than original skill. But then you say do lower progression of that skill if you want to achieve it, isn't that even less specific? For example while learning front lever, if you do advanced tuck front lever angle between your hands and body is much bigger than the angle in the real front lever, making the excersize less specific than banded full front lever. Why wouldn't you combine lower progressions and heavier bands in your routine? Also you can include some negatives (eccentrics) to get the feeling for the real difficulty.

Hi, what do you think about Elias Page’s training (before he retired)? I’m drawing from his interview with Jacked Vegan, where he said he used heavy bands a lot for skillwork. I’m interested in your opinion on his style of training - high volume + attempts, a lot of caffeine and lot of eating post-workout (=do you think some sort of nutritional periodization would improve performance in cali/MAG, instead of willy-nilly eating).
@SasaVenos
@SasaVenos 8 ай бұрын
Man i love elias. The thing is for example, caffeine never had an effect to me so i would know anything about it, eating in his style was also impossible for me (eat every other day, fasting on the day you train). Its all about a persons mindset and i think elias is just a MONSTER. He also had a lot of injuries because he trained too frequently (every other day), which is fine if you do low intensity and higher volume but still. I also tried his dropset training for skills (going from bw to heavy bands, a giant set) but it produced minimal result to just training with a light band and bodyweight. He is super strong obviously so doing high volume for him is fine because he can do that shit with his bodyweight anyway, heavy bands are good for getting a lot of volume in without accumulating much fatigue, thats why they are enjoyable. However i do not think they are productive as much, if they were, trust me i would use them. Great question!

@clownposs1
@clownposs1 7 ай бұрын
@@SasaVenos yes, yes I do agree with you. But 170cm height or arm span? if arm span, I'm having 10cm more and thus required longer conditionning and more strenght according to the formula - "Torque is determined by multiplying the applied force by the distance from the point of rotation to the point where the force is applied. For an iron cross, in common parlance this means half your body weight times the length of your arm from shoulder to wrist times two." This fomula can be applied to all static holds with straight arms. This is why athletes like Daniels Laizans are very very rare and nowadays dominated by those of small body structure.

Bro don't you think that training low volume with heavy band and then progressing with lighter ones will won't help as much as doing progressions? I don't see much of difference between doing unassisted straddle and doing a full planche with a light band. Your critique is that the latter makes progress slower, but doesn't that depend on the individual? And anyway, any progress in static elements will be relatively slow regardless
@SasaVenos
@SasaVenos 8 ай бұрын
Great comment. Why would you do low volume planche with a heavy band? Do you know how far away you are and how many steps you have just skipped? My theory is simply this; master the prerequsities, for each skill Always. You will make it way easier for yourself in the end and you will emerge stronger. Lastly believing that progress needs to be slow is a mindset
