We have traveled to Sri Lanka many times,even during the war. We always felt safe and can't wait to return.

I am Sri Lankan living in London I know very well about our people There is no any evidence or incidents that foreigners in danger during this time. Sri Lankans are overall well respected and disciplined specially for foreigners Specially for Westerners because you all are easily can be recognised as foreigners.

Thanks for visiting Sri Lanka brother. Sri Lanka is in desperate need of tourists. The root cause of everything going on here is the shortage of foreign currency. So no dollars means no importation of cooking gas, diesel, petrol etc. A considerable amount of power plants are operated using diesel, hence the power cuts. Tourism is the second most important contributor to foreign currency earnings in Sri Lanka. Covid during 2020- 2022 and Easter attacks in 2019 severely affected the tourism industry and the current crisis is not helping either. Sri Lankans need tourists to come more than ever. I hope all Sri Lankans understand this too. If you are a foreigner reading this, I really hope you will visit here. Welcome to Sri Lanka.

I was meant to be going in June, now on the Aus government “reconsider your need to travel list” so had to cancel for travel insurance reasons :(. My condolences to the Sri Lankan people.

The huge white wall starting from 11:53 is not an army camp. It is called Temple trees which was the official residence of the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. There are lot of barracks because he was using all the police and military power to protect his position as the prime minister till the last moment. There was a huge protest around this place as well until he resigned few days back.

I heard the diesel problem in Sri Lanka is now over (May, 22), they received diesel, what they don't have right now is patrol, and kerosene. They had a huge shortage of gas used for cooking, but they now receive them, and over the next two to three days that problem too will be settled, hopefully. Diesel problem is over, also means, the power cut is also over. The transportation (including public transportation) cannot be an issue anymore. I will also be in Sri Lanka in about 3 weeks or so, hopefully I will be able to give everyone an update. Thanks for your time in Sri Lanka. Enjoyed your videos.

I’m really sorry to hear that you had to go through some difficulties in Sri Lanka during your vacation. Please keep in mind that Sri Lanka is still a developing country and recovering from Covid losses. On top of that, Sri Lankan people had to go through an economic crisis which is very bad for everyone. The tourism industry was hit the hardest. There are many low-income families that survive from tourism such as street vendors, chefs, and many more.
