When I was younger, my hair grew in humidity. Now it's thinner and less curly and it sadly wilts in humidity. Some Walgreens carry TreLuxe too.

Feels! My hair gets so lifeless in the humidity these days, and I’ve never found a product that doesn’t cause my scalp to itch when I start sweating in the hot sun. 🥵

As a "wavy sister," I follow your trials and tribulations with rapt attention and celebrate your successes with you.... In this instance, the good news is that even if the volume of your tresses and duration of your curls may have disappointed you, your hair continued to look great BECAUSE YOU NOW HAVE A FLATTERING HAIRCUT that suits both your face and your hairtype - even in 106° F. heat!! Consider that this wash day just gave you another "look" that you can carry off because you have healthy hair and have selected products that apparently manage frizz (or worse!!) under extreme conditions. ❤ your helpful videos and product advice, Courtney. I have recently found Treluxe hi def gel and it is absolutely the best gel I have tried so far. Some of the grittier gels look great in day 1 but then by day 2 and 3 it looks a tangled mess. Treluxe gel holds really well but my hair feels soft and healthy and not tangly. Big thumbs up from me 👍🏻

Wavy hair ain't for sissies, and many of the "curly girl" techniques don't work at all on my hair. Thank you as always for your tips and product reviews. My 2A hair straightens and goes flat with too much or too little product, too large a curl section, no root lifter, and failing to fully diffuse the roots before air drying the rest. It's still a bit of a crap shoot, but better than trying to fight the battle of heat styling.

I was recently in Ireland for a conference and I was amazed by my curls. Apparently damp and cold is totally their jam. I gently restyled every day (sprayed with water and scrunched a small amount of gel in). I liked my day 3 and 4 curls more than my day 1 curls! It was wild!

I’m sorry for laughing but damp and cold sounds like something nobody wants. Leave it to the hair gods to decide those are the ideal conditions for curlies.

@graveart1105 The water is much softer at home... Dublin has incredibly hard water. The most humorous part to me is that my wavy/curly comes from the Irish side of my family. My mom's family has stick straight hair, but most everyone in my dad's family is somewhere in the 2a to 3c spectrum. It was almost as though I could hear my curls saying, "aye... 'tis good to be home."

It makes perfect sense you love gels, but as someone with coarse high porosity hair, I LIVE for hair creams hahaha - but I still love watching these one brand washdays, even if I can't use the same technique. I still learn so much either way!

Never underestimate the benifits of a good gel on top of a curl cream. Treluxe does have a curl cream as well, two now. The one labeled curl Supreme is very concentrated and hydrating, to hydrating for my finer hair unless it's winter. It may be worth a loon if you like creams. It doesn't have a ton of hold so you may want to top it with another styler like their gel or mousse but I have seen people use it as a single styler if they love creams.

I have dry coarse high porosity curly hair too....the Treluxe 4-in-1 hydrating creme paired with their Hi Definition gel makes for my perfect wash day. I add the Treluxe Reflex serum in between the creme and gel when I decide I need some extra shine and anti-frizz help that day. They work so well for me that I haven't been using any other stylers for at least the last 4 months. Their shampoo and leave-in conditioner were not effective for me though. I ordered the deep conditioner to try out with my recent order to have backups of my 'holy grail 3', but haven't used it yet to know if it works. Sorry this is so long. Short story -- try out the creme before the gel and see if it works well for you

Thank you so much for such a detailed, informative video! And for being honest about using too much gel & hence the “flat” hair. 😬 I also really LOVE that you didn’t use a diffuser!! I’ve got pretty curly hair, but I’ve never had the patience to have my hair do anything other than air dry, and I think that helps a lot. ❤

I just cut about 8-10 inches off my hair and now it’s about the same length as yours, and it’s so curly! My curls and waves bounce up at the roots and I couldn’t be happier. For my first wash day after the cut, I used the Verb foaming gel and two small pumps of Innersense I Create Hold. Held up nicely overnight!

I have similar hair. I got definition and volume by adding the Treluxe volume mousse after the gel. Saw this from another wavy influencer /stylist.

You must get their “Aloe Vera Curl Primer” because it is the leave-in version of their deep conditioner and helps with that droop. It is the most awesome refresher… it seems counter-intuitive when you read the ingredients but it works!

As I was going through my curly journey my damaged curls would puff up and get bigger and frizzier. Now that my hair is healthier it gets limp in the humidity, literally sucks all the life out of my hair so I totally understand. I found some products great for humidity with the ingredient Polyquaternium high on the ingredients list, it works very well! Plus I find that brush styling along with these products work great too!!

I recently got this TreLuxe gel and I really like it. I didn’t realize how good it was ! It’s much stronger than I thought. My hair has a bit more curl than a wavy but I learn a lot from your videos. You have beautiful hair Courtney. Ps Try a clip instead of a pineapple. My hair gets frizzy in humidity but at night I have to use a clip. I’ve been down too, but we know God is good. ❤

I love Tre Luxe but I only use the deep conditioners as described on the bottle. I prefer to use the leave in conditioner but only a small amount because it's just so hydrating. Also, I get best results with less of the gel. It's hydrating, but doesn't weigh down my hair, and my wash days last for 3 to 4 days in Florida humidity (I work outside in it).

Thank you for this! Your hair is pretty much like mine, but mine is super long. Your videos have really helped me embrace my wavy hair. I'm still at the beginning of my journey (well, my second journey...I tried two years ago and got overwhelmed and went back to straightening it). But I am all in now! :) BTW I love your shirts, and am going to check them out!!

Seems like for me humidity and when it's really cold out (winter moisture) will both make my hair grow..frizzy haha. With this heat wave I'm almost always clarifying and deep conditioning (just rinsing & not letting it sit) and it helps a lot for any greasiness & preps for a brand new nice hair day. Strong gel always 💝

These are incredible wash day results, Courtney! Hope you are feeling better. I’ve got to try out these Treluxe products sometime. Does Treluxe come in a sample size for the shampoo? Might have to check that one out to see if I have an allergic reaction to the coconut milk extract in it. 😊 I agree that the heat and humidity have been the worst in memory this year due to the El Niño. Cutting my hair short and going product-free has helped me avoid sweating too much and having an itchy scalp, but I’m hoping we get some much needed sweater weather in the Fall here in Florida because it’s been impossible for me to walk outside with my heat intolerance. I’m sure all of us living across the South and Midwest are right there with you. 🥵

With your head upside down more blood flow to the scalp probably adds to the red scalp

My own barely wavy hair also gets wilty in the heat. I also get a bit of halo frizz that tries to curl but mostly stretched out and wilty. Treluxe is my favorite line though I haven't tried the new deep conditioner yet. I love all their stylers, especially the reflex styling serum to smooth down frizz before using the gel. It's like a super lightweight curl cream because it's a serum but still hydrating with light hold. It's also an amazing refresh product for me. I also did a Treluxe wash day, and it didn't last as long as normal, but I am blaming being overdue for a trim and the heat. It refreshed really well for 3 days. I am only one year into my wavy journey, so I am still experimenting a little bit. (I need to stay out of tjmaxx). As always, I love your reviews and love seeing your results. Do you think you might want to do a Q and A post again?

Earlier this month I was in Florida for a week and was unsure how my hair would react coming from dry dry Canada but surprisingly my hair LOOVED the humidity and heat (even though I didn’t by the end). Back to Canada and it’s been a little sad and flat 😢

Their leave in conditioner smells like cinnamon. I love the scent. The curl cream has a salon perfume scent which is very strong 💪; i had to give mine away bc i was afraid it would trigger a migraine. I never noticed much of a scent from the Treluxe gel but sometimes i hair doesn't like aloe (my hair easily flash dries with proteins and aloe) But i have had sometimes had good success with Treluxe gel.

Even though it stretched out a little it still looked nice on day 2. It looked shiny and healthy and wasn't floofy or frizzy. I love Treluxe!

Hi! Definition is my favorite gel for winters, but doesn't hold up for me in the summer humidity. One of my favorite things about it is how soft my hair feels on day two while still having some definition and hold. I hate that in comes in a tub, so I always use a funnel and decant it into a reusable pump bottle I bought from Amazon.

The best thing about Treluxe for me is how it smells. I LOVE the way my hair smells when I use it. I can totally sympathize with droopy hair. I live on the Gulf Coast and it is HOT and HUMID. During the summer, I am lucky if my hair holds up from the door to the car. 🤣

I'm guessing it's a wavy girl problem because heat has always flattened my hair out. It doesn't matter if it's dry heat or humid heat. My hair simply doesn't respond well to heat.

I bought the whole Treluxe set and found it doesn’t work well for my coarse, dense shorter hair. My wash days don’t last long to keep or even refresh days. AG recoil works much better for wash days, along with I create volume by Innersense, then a hard hold gel like Giovanni. Refresh days are so much easier with a little water plus I create lift mousse by Innersense.

My hair wilts in hot weather too. I'm just sharing my thoughts but it doesn't feel worth it to do so much just for less than a day's worth of defined waves. I mean I live in a hot and humid city plus I workout 4-6x a week. I just feel like what's the point of styling? The gel will last a day if I'm lucky. I'd rather just use a leave-in conditioner or a light curl cream and call it a day. Gel also increases drying time and sometimes breaking the cast isn't easy when you use a hard hold gel.

Just purchased all 3 of the products you used because they seem to give moisture and yet hold. My hair has been super dry/brittle to hold curl so hoping these products wil not crunch and stiffen on my hair but be more supple.

How do you get a cast from the hi definition gel? I find it’s more of a medium hold for me and I never get a cast. Maybe because I have fine, low density, low porosity hair that it needs more grit? My hair loves the aloe though so I love the definition from it

Tre luxe serum adds something special to my wash day but I can’t seem to get high def to work for me. I think custards, with the exception of kinky curly, just don’t agree with my hair.

@@blacklabgoldens8197 It is the first styler I use, before curl cream and gel. It’s very light weight and it seems to help with definition. I notice a difference when it’s not in my lineup. I have fine, shoulder length hair and use a nickel sized amount on each side of my head.

I has a really good wash day today. I used Lovlis tea tree shampoo and coconut fruit conditioner and some pharma gel, i love that the shampoo and the conditioner is 100% israeli and natural and curly girl approved. The Lovlis shampoos and conditioners is my most lovely product to wash and is gave me exactly what i want form gentle shampoo and light conditioner.
