LED light phototherapy is a gentle form of low laser therapy. Dermatologists prescribe blue, red & yellow wavelengths to gently & effectively treat conditions such as acne, rosacea, as well as promote collagen production. This can speed up wound healing & aid in skin rejuvenation.
.
What exactly is LED light therapy?
LED Light Therapy is the therapeutic use of natural light. This gentle yet effective treatment emits specific wavelengths of LED light energy deep into the skin. Depending on the colour of LED, light can increase cellular function, accelerate healing, treat active acne and promote collagen production. This is why LED is used frequently for skin rejuvenation. I frequently utilize LEDs to speed up recovery following lasers & surgical procedures.
.
What conditions can LED Light Therapy treat?
Light therapy or LED phototherapy can treat the following conditions-
.
Acne: the most frequent indication at Clinic Cutis is the treatment of acne. We employ LED, as well as vascular lasers & BBL to manage all forms of acne. Light activates chemicals produced by bacteria found in zits & pimples. This causes a chemical reaction that destroys bacteria.

I use a panel, Omnilux mask and a device that has multiple colour LED’s and they’ve been life changing. Helping everything from neuropathy to rosacea. I’d never be without LED therapy

My Board Certified Dermatologist told me this week that I shouldn’t do red light therapy because it could potentially aggravate my excema flareups (spongiotic dermatitis.). I guess maybe light therapy might still be questionable for treating certain types of skin conditions?

As a person struggling with malasma I am honestly afraid of using those LED lights.

My dermatologist prescribed Retin A for my melasma. It worked to remove it completely. I used it nightly, it took a good 8 months or more of constant use before it was gone. Even a prescription medication can take a long time to get rid of melasma.

Of ALL the dermatologists who have videos about LED masks on YT, you're the only one who explains exactly how the process works. And the only one that answered my concern that the infrared lights could worsen melasma & hyperpigmentation. So led masks by Omnilux and Currentbody that includes infrared with red light are not good for skin with hyperpigmentation?

Thank you! I am almost 40 and thinking about treating myself to a mask to get a little bit more glow and elasticity back. I was always just too afraid I would fry my face and push hyperpigmentation.

I fear that the companies aren't calibrating the wavelength of the light or that it will fall out of calibration and damage your skin.

Is green light also bad for malesma? Because it's a mix of blue and yellow?

I have been loving this series on melasma. Otc treatments dont work for me, and when I go to a dermatologist I feel like I have a better understanding of what might work or what might make things worse

Guys please note that all the commercial outrageosly expensive LED face masks are extremely under powered to give any benefits to the skin. You are better off getting LED panels instead.

What a load of crap. It’s been proven that even the lower power masks work too. I personally own a high powered full body panel, an Omnilux mask and a low powered device that has multiple colour LED’s and it provides fantastic results.
