Boulder shoulders look great on any physique, but building them takes know-how. Here's the science you need to build a bigger, shapelier, healthier pair of shoulders!

Men and women alike want to build an aesthetic set of shoulders. At the end of the day, if you want to build round delts, you need to keep your shoulders healthy and injury-free. Because the shoulder is crucial to so many movements, a shoulder injury is one of the worst you can encounter.
Knowing the anatomy of your muscles and bones, as well as the various functions of your shoulders, can help you train and grow your shoulders more effectively. It can also help you keep them healthy and mobile. I'm going to help you build a better, stronger, healthier set of shoulders.
t's great to have aesthetic shoulders, but if you injure these guys, you're in big trouble. You can't train your chest, back, or arms-heck, even leg training can be a chore if your shoulders are hurt. It's important to train your shoulders for strength, physique, and health.
Take the time to warm up before you go through the workouts. If your shoulder muscles are weak, go lighter and do the exercises correctly. You'll get more out of the exercise that way.
FOLLOW THE BUILT BY SCIENCE PROGRAM
We only highlighted two exercises in this video, so make sure you check out the full six-week Built by Science program! Watch all the overview videos before attacking the gym. Remember, you need to combine mind and muscle to build your best possible body.

Shoulder Anatomy Muscles Deltoid: outside muscles on the shoulder (superior) -Anterior Head from clavicle (collar bone) to the humerus (arm bone) causes shoulder flexion (front raise) -Middle Head runs form top of scapula and also attaches to the humerus, moves arms forward and backward in a side lateral workout -Posterior head runs form the scapula spine or the back of the scapula, comes down and across and ends on the humerus, causes shoulder extension (extending the arms to the sides from the front raise) Rotator Cup: S.I.T.S. (Sup, Infra, Teres, Sub) creates stability and keeps the arm in the socket -Infraspinatus spans the outside portion of the scapula, causes external rotation with the teres minor -Teres Minor underneath the infra is a smaller muscle, causes external rotation with the infraspinatus -Supraspinatus above the infra, runs from the top of scapula and attaches to the inside of the humerus, causes abduction of the arms (sideways lift) -Subscapularis on the front side of the shoulder blade, causes internal rotation Skeleton Rotator Cuff: -Thoracic Spine (middle back) 12 vertebrae, start at base of the neck and come down and ends at the top of the lower back -Scapula (shoulder blade ) rest on top the of the thoracic spine -Humerus (arm bone) long upper arm bone 6 motions Shoulder: is a ball and socket joint -flexion (raise it overhead) -extend it (hold it to the sides) -abduct (lift it away from the body) -adduct (bring it closer to the body or mid line) -external rotation (open your arm up) when the arm is extended -internal rotation (palm facing backward) when the arm is extended 2 key exercises -Overhead presses -Bent over lateral raise

These videos are AMAZING! I am grateful that he is taking the time to educate those of us who need to understand our bodies better. I have just begun my first personal fitness plan ever and once I get in a few months or so of some endurance I will then be seeking a professional to sculpt this body. Again, very grateful for this information. Thank you!
