everytime i’ve tried the more advanced shoulder mobility exercise with the stick i couldn’t do it properly. it always got me down because of how horrible the mobility in my right shoulder was, and both of them in general. decided to push myself through 2 sets 30 secs of those stretches. i decided, for the first time i saw something and decided, lets try it, you said i’d be surprised so i grabbed a broomstick and gave it a shot. i could do it. i could fuckinf do it. it was an amazing feeling.i am so so endlessly grateful for you and this video. thank you so much. all it took was just those stretches and i could do it. i’m definitely doing it from now on. thank you so much.

Unless he's willing, and with that twink aesthetic and passion for having every muscle stretched, I'd say he is very willing... Bend him down like a pretzel and put the handcuffs on, you know what I'm saying? Dayum!

The third one is an advanced stretch,be careful while trying it…I once pinched my nerve from the neck all the way back to the rotator cuff while doing that exact movement.I was in pain for a whole week.It’s a very advanced stretch,you have to try it after you become mobile enough.

You know what’s weird is I was using rings the other day and I did a full shoulder rotation and now that I did that I feel my one shoulder is locked somehow so I’m trying to follow your routine and stretch it out so thanks for being so clear and precise with your explanations it truly helps me.

Thanks a great bunch man. Really loving the simple yet highly effective (beginner) tips and tricks. And the fact that you label them as such helps a great deal too. The thing with the stick is something I tried a while ago but gave up on. With the help of this video I felt results relatively quick and see the logic of doing/mastering this first. Keep up the good work (because yeah shoulder pain is a nasty female dog)!

I have hyper flexibility in my shoulders so the “difficult or advanced mobility drills” are super easy for me and I can dislocate my shoulders at will

Me too and it is actually horrible because our shoulders dislocate too often causing major risks. Have you ever had any problem wirh that?

@@jllamas7231 Not really. The only problems I have is with certain side sleeping positions. I don't do it all the time but it's still a cool party trick

I found you don’t even need a wall if you stretch your arm out as far as possible then bend your palm to get it as straight as possible (almost like your doing karate) then get your fingers as straight as possible then just keep it where it is then bend your chest the opposite way it also stretches your fingers

Well for the nerds: neither chest nor lat really connect to the shoulder. They connect to the humerus a little further down

I don't think most fans understand the level of grappling that is necessary to be in the UFC. Even though Connor is not a stand out grappler he would smoke the average BJJ black belt, and as he's been doing Jiujitsu for a long ass time there's no reason he shouldn't be a black belt. Same goes for Dustin (despite what Islam says lol) and other UFC athletes that you wouldn't guess to be black belts.

With those stretches, for some reason, below my elbow, it hurts, like quite a lot. Like when you hit the nerve on your elbow. And this is true for basically all shoulder flexibility moves, what should I do, what is this?

I barely did sports in the last few years and just started out because you inspired me. I thought my Shoulders where in rough shape since my left one hurt a little. I was so proud when I was able to do this 360 thing with the stick you did at the beginning of your video. I definitely need to loose weight but then look out for me, flexy german guy in the making!! :D

What about dynamic stretches? Static stretches are cool and all but nobody ever talks about dynamic stretches for the shoulders outside of shoulder circles or just throwing around your arm

I'd guess y'all have tight biceps, wrists, and maybe even hand muscles. What's your wrist mobility like? If you're on all fours, fingers pointed forwards, how far forward can you lean (like shoulders past your fingertips) while keeping your arms straight? If it's not far, tight wrists. David has vids for that!

I just learned i have great shoulders, i cant so everything he did, but i can go pretty far back (in the first stretch he did where he lies on his back and puts his hands behind his head then slides his hands back) i have a terrible back though, tight hamstrings

Yeah, if you're used to do push-ups or similar exercises with full range of motion, then your arms and hands will probably be tighter than your pecs.
