Can you develop woodworking skills just by watching KZfaq and then practicing what you learned? I’m trying to find out.
I bought this Stanley No. 4 Type 9 (1902-1907), knowing it had chips in the blade. The larger of the 2 chips was about 1/16 inch deep. And the rest of the blade was dull enough to run my finger across it without any danger.
Watching multiple sharpening videos, and seeing items used on other channels, can I take this plane from a shelf piece to a functional hand plane?
Even though this video is only a few minutes long, it took me over 2 hours to sharpen this plane. Combination of dull and damaged blade, and being my first time trying to do this.
