so many ppl commenting how dark the ending is, but this is what shredder actually did in the first turtles movie. he payed teens cigs and video games to work for him and labled them as the new foot clan

I think this is even darker... he took it one step further by making the turtles think they were just robots leading to one of the turtles presumably impaling a teenager.

I recently got all 3 films on Blueray, nostalgia overload and Sam Rockwell was in the first movie also! To add, the teens were dressed up and you couldn't tell if they were adults or not, one teen was also killed by the commander in his rage because he failed Shredder.

@@sagaswp well considering that the studio meddled and forced changes, it might have made sense. This isn't a bash on you or anything, just something that happens far too often and then directors get all the blame. Now Bay isn't an amazing director, but he is capable of good films. Armageddon was AMAZING

@@PurpleFury2375 Bay is a good director, but Transformers and some of the other stuff he did, didn't appeal to the younger generation (20-29, above also) but for teens it was a larger appeal to watch them. Marketing we can argue about, but Bay is a good director when the studios aren't against him.

Considering 2:12 actually happened in the first movie, this could honestly be a brilliant evil plan by Shredder: have the Turtles accidentally kill a normal human while thinking it was a robot, then have them be hated by the rest of the city and hunted as outlaws, and all he would have to do is sit back and watch the Turtles' reputation be sunk. Brilliant!

not really, shredder ordered those teenagers to attack turtles, the turtles attacked in self defense. pretty sure shredder will get jail time for enticing teenagers with illegal substances and finally being responsible for killing the teens.

You. Get. One. Point minus for Shredder's voice, but otherwise..this is ingenious. The wonderful throwback to the first TMNT video game animation along with the hilarious bots and Shredder's overall(and quite spot-on) over-the-top gestures and Turtles' voices, this is one helluva great job. Also, very nice, dark nod at the first Turtles movie at the end. Raph looks like he just go skewered with a foot-long dentist drill.

Shredder is gaslighting the turtles. He's the one sending out stuff with hostile intent so they're acting in self defense. Also in several incarnations HAS broken into their home and wrecked their stuff, sometimes even multiple times.
