When you are new to Red Cherry Shrimp keeping, there is so much information, and misinformation, that it can be hard to know which is which.
I don't think Red Cherry Shrimp keepers need to worry about;

I have been keeping and breeding shrimp for the past few years, and, at the time of recording, I have spent the last two years making a sizable income each month from breeding shrimp.

Awww that stinks, sorry it leaked. I had a feeling it was when I saw water at the bottom, on the left of the tank. I think we've all been there at one time or another, right? I have several 10 gallons out in my shed, that I got free. Never stripped and resealed a tank before, but gave the stripping a go. Still haven't resealed them. Maybe this spring. Anyhow, hope you show a rerun of the set up after you get it up and going again. Thanks for not just scrapping this video, and sharing it instead. I think it's a good reminder to everyone what can go wrong with a free tank, and be prepared for it. Have an awesome day!

Another fantastic video the tank was looking great same about the seal leak you have some patience i have had my tank from November and got some juveniles red cherry shrimp still waiting for my shrimps to be berried i have not patience see like forever

I am a big fan of epiphytes, I use a lot of driftwood and rocks and there is often limited open ground. I love the rocks you use. I use river rocks a lot also. They are great. I usually lay a few bigger ones directly on the floor of the tank to form some canyons and caves and such. When you are pouring the substrate you build the back areas up against these rocks, allowing it to dribble down through the cracks, to a lower front area. Don't pour over the gaps, just allow it to fill down by sifting in. Then cap a few areas with more rocks and build out the top structure and log work. This gives plenty of quiet zones, saves on substrate used, gives a good feeding zone where mulm and stuff won't build up in the thin substrate and allow you to plant rooted plants or bunches in the rear. This is habit from Dwarf Cichlids that like to dig under rocks and topple them. Will love to watch this tank as it develops. After you redo it all LOL. At least you have a nice terrarium if you can't be bothered resealing it

I loved the scape! I have been there too. I have gotten very good at stripping seals and resealing tanks...😆😆😆... it's what I do for my free finds 1st because I had the exact same problem a few times!

loved the upbeat music during b rolls. I had a massive die off in my 100 day orange shrimp tank - woke up and had 1 dead shrimp, returned from work later and over 100 dead. I recovered 31 from the original 11. :(

unlucky the tank broke mate, that scape looked really nice. With the tap water i guess my kh is too low cos my 7.6ph tap water turned straight to 6.8, but now im keeping tangerine tigers in there.

If your pH plummeted like that, than I agree you probably have low kH. Love the fact you can keep tangerine tigers 😎

Have you ever thought of getting red onyx shrimp? They are really cool and as a caridina fan I have to be honest that the red onyx are so beautiful!

Hi. Enjoyed build and I too was going to say congrats on your freebie!! Great to get a freebie - sorry it had a sting it it’s tail! But at least it is fixable😀😀😀 Looking forward to seeing the new Green Jade shrimp too. Just going back to my yellow shrimp for a mo. Saw your reply and sounds like I should not mix. But also looking to get some nice deep red ones for a cube which is cycling - will you be selling any soon….? I found the cube was not really still cycled even though it had been. But cycle crashed when it was fishless for a few weeks- bacteria died off - but have it in process just now. k

I just started a fish tank and was planning to get shrimp. I'm using fluval stratum but for some reason everytime i open the lid to my fish tank it smells like cat piss. Is that normal?

That smell suggest ammonia. In my experience, Stratum doesn’t give off ammonia. ☹️

@@FishKeepingAnswers what's best to do should I constantly do water changes 2 times a week. I don't have anything inside the tank and was cycling but didn't know if I should turn on the sponge filter I didn't turn it on due to worrys about ammonia spikes and damaging the filter. The only stuff inside the fish tank is just live plants and lava rock for the last 2 weeks now.

Truth be told, you can keep shrimp in almost any volume of water, just be prepared for the fact that the less water you have, the more effort is required to keep the water parameters stable 👍🏻

@@FishKeepingAnswers I had exactly that tank back when I first got shrimp. A tenner from B&M with a plastic plant and a crappy air pump. It also leaked. 🤣
