For some reason, just listening to Billy's voice is so calming. Not in a sleepy way, just in a relaxing way. Means a lot to me, being bipolar. c:

I just love the interaction between these two, they're so clearly made for each other. Even the way she says "well you and brussel sprouts have a history", like she finds every little thing about him fascinating. Which I totally understand, he's a truly fascinating man. Billy forever!!

Billy Connolly is not only a very funny man but his musings are often very profound - probably due to his amazing sense of introspection.

Wow his wife really let's him ramble on at length without as clear a structure as she has with other guests. She sits there thoroughly disarmed, entertained.

Billy's right , I used to drink (not for 30 years now)but all the madness f234king and fighting waking up in stray beds (or gutters) Remembering what you did. Some times I drank for 3 days straight or more.It was fun but dangerous and physically bad for me. But at times I miss it .

I think people on here should listen to Billy about 'not getting it'. So many comments on youtube are just "This is shit", or "Wasted 3min of my life".

His father molested him as a child. It's in pamela's book on him. He only made that public a few years ago. It makes watching his sketches about his father have a different ring to them once you know.

He admits he is ruthless with himself, by admiting his own setbacks and sufferings. He mentions his dislike for brusseI sprouts, I didn't know until recently, that his aunts would punch his nose til his he ate his brussel sprouts :(

So the Rolling Stones are like Brussels Sprouts.Instead of the lips,a sprout. Somehow I just do not think the imagery would be as successful. Some of Billys stuff is just magical. Dealing with pain can, sometimes, turn to humour and compassion.

@rentatrip1 Because (to steal a line from Tommy Tiernan) there is a huge brick wall in the English language that restricts the spirit of the Irish (or Scottish in Connolly's case) and the word 'fuck' is his chisel.

How do YOU KNOW he is doing it consciously? She's his wife, that suggests this is the real him and for you he would play-act... or for a large crowd wanting something to roar about "Whooar! Ya! I am an adult at an adult event! There is swearing! Whooar! F*CK! (< conscious, on my part, there) This man 'get's me! He's cool! " Possibly consciously altering his language for effect and entertainment value?

@laudidarkmist - Pardon my interest , I dearly love the man, but seek to discover why he sent 25 years bellowing fuck every other word then when he sits with his wife he is a saintly Choir Boy ? the riddle ? I do not condemn the use of the word FUCK, fuck no , but merely bring up the question as to why he consciously eliminates that word from his vocabulary here .... NOT IRONY , rather Intelligent comment made by a viewer Now the question , who left you in charge of correct answers?

it's not nearly as interesting since she's married to the person and just lets him talk w/o really responding in a meaningful way. She just laughs heartily as EVERYTHING he says...even when it's not funny.

She's married to the guy... and she says that he used booze to go on stage... and he says that's not true The last thing you should listen to.... is a wife interviewing their husband... that's why I've skipped this segment.
