Shropshire MTB | The Wrekin | Out of my depth on these insanely steep trails!!!

Join me on a second attempt to ride The Wrekin in Shropshire. This hill is known for its really steep and gnarly descents.
Having seen various other KZfaqrs ride this hill I first visited here last year, I was very new to MTB (6 months) and was totally shocked just how steep and gnarly this place is (GoPro in full effect), I left having stumbled down all the trails on my feet but had a new found respect for the riders I had been watching!
1 year on and I am still not really ready for this hill and totally out of my depth although I did actually manage to ride one section successfully so I feel like my riding has progressed since my last visit but I hardly did this place justice.
I am definitely going to revisit this again sometime this year to see if I can continue to overcome my fear of the steep stuff, I guess the best way to improve is throw yourself in at the deep end right?

Thanks dude! Although I didn’t do it justice at all I felt my riding improving during the day and was pretty happy by the end! You should visit here mate its scary but awesome! Went back myself again yesterday! 👍👊

Absolutely as Hallmarc_Trails says it scares the majority of riders.! Love the place though great for working on ya riding and ya scare fest haha

I think the wrekin scares most people haha, the gopro really doesn't do it justice, great video 😀👍

Thanks mate! yeah its one place that sends a shudder down my back just thinking about it! 😂 deffo made an improvement over last time but hardly convincing on some of it! Planning on going back in a couple of weeks to try again! 👍

Been riding nearly 2 years and this is my local hill where I learnt (still learning) to ride! Good effort and you picked a lovely day for it😁😁👍

Cracking video pal, thinking of going for a ride at the wrekin me self only down the road really for me just wondering whats the ride back up like can you get a fair few runs in, nice 1 🤟

Thanks mate! The ride back up really depends on your fitness! Im really unfit and pretty large so for me I’m done after 4 climbs! Dont let that put you off though because the descents do just keep on going! 👍 or of course you could just session certain segments then you wouldnt have to climb the whole hill each time! 👊
