The Wrekin. Scares me every time
There's something about The Wrekin, and that something is steep loose trails. Every time I go, there's that niggling feeling that I could crash and hurt myself but conversely, that's why I love it so much.
For the second day of riding with Twelve Stone Tony, we had two options; Eastridge or The Wrekin and when it came down to it, the latter was the only real option as I wanted to show Twelve some of the best and steepest trails in Shropshire.
Twelve is no stranger to steep and technical trails, as he rides in South Wales a fair bit on a variety of (should we say cheeky) trails, so I was interested to see what he thought of The Wrekin, renowned for its steep, loose, technical trails. And boy, was it loose - the recent dry weather made the surface and finding grip a real challenge.
I reference Jimbo MTB in the video. Jim loved The Wrekin and filmed on it a fair bit. Tragically, he passed away whilst out riding earlier this year and is greatly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him. His channel is still up and worth a watch - his positivity and love for life shone through in every edit: / @jimbomtb9560
I also mention ItsMrJC's channel. JC also rides and films on the big hill on a regular basis and again, his videos are always entertaining and well worth a watch (and subscription): / @itsmrjc2393
Big thanks to Twelve for the follow cam footage used in this one.
I use a Stuntman chest harness, far better than the standard GoPro ones, offering more stability for the camera, more camera positions and much more comfortable. Click the link to get yourself one from Amazon. amzn.to/35tbq75
