This is only a problem because there's no stat progression outside of damage and crit through mastery. I like inn items, but right now, food is pretty much mandatory after the first region because it's the only way to get more HP to offset the huge damage boosts the enemies get from Ordainment. With enemy speed, you at least have a few different ways to counter it (pro tip - daze is your friend). There's nothing you can do against +40% damage other than buying the best food available at every inn. Ordainment is a bad mechanic in need of a substantial rework in general, but adding some sort of stat progression system for the heroes would be a step in the right direction in my opinion.

@@RanVor wut? You can go through entire game without having any food. Ordained enemies are not even a problem as long as you know what they do and when. For instance Resesment buffs their damage plus fire, so if you can get proper resist and block tokens the ordained is no problem. Plus if we use your "rework" then the game would be too easy.

@@ExtremeMan10 All Ordainments save for Denial give enemies +40% HP, +40% damage and +2 speed. The rest of the effects are fairly inconsequential. If my rework was implemented, the game would be too easy, you say? How curious, considering I haven't proposed any. I merely stated that I wish we had alternatives to inn items when it comes to increasing hero stats. (If I were to do so, however, I'd suggest an option to put mastery points into stats instead of skills - seems like a fair tradeoff to me.) I could easily flip this argument on you, though - if the enemy speed was reduced, you'd be able to kill them before they go, and the game would be too easy. I dislike Ordainment not because it's hard - it's not, outside of a few edge cases - but because it's random. The difficulty of encounters is very inconsistent because of it, particularly in region 2, where it's a coin toss whether a miniboss is a menace or a pushover. I don't even understand why Red Hook would go for something like that, it seems like a pain in the ass to balance. I'd much prefer a static buff to enemy stats based on how close to the Mountain you are.

​@ Dude, ordainment is mechanic to push in some challenge on later stages. If no enemies get buff, how the hell is game then hard? By your logic every enemy in DD1 should be easy (green) variant even final boss lol.

Oh my god you're right... That's insane! That means a single hit, if I did my math right, deals 24 damage. 6 of whatever DoT triggers first, then that DoT will give another 6, and then those two DoTs will give 12 combined next turn, provided all of them land. With the fact that it basically ignores Block (Since it's DoT damage, not frontloaded physical damage), and triggers more Death Armors due to being DoTs... I'd argue Malediction might be stronger than Burning Stars. At the very least on enemies with low res

@@pyromainia4710 not including riposte characters or extra actions from trinkets like Snap Judgement or reverberating redoubt. Any boss with a decent sized health at but low resist should fear ritualist occultist now.

@@valyxillos2308 Since I don't think the Reach cleanses DoT's when transitioning between phases, I think it's great against it. Destroy Phase 1 with this, stacking up DoT's, they carry over to Phase 2 and deal a lot of damage despite it's high DoT resist, then in stage 3 you just fight it with whatever DoTs you land.

How do you play frontline occ in dd2? The block+ on combat start isnt enough for him to be survivable imo
