@@in0cent_aspect lowering render distance in single player should force the mobcap to only spawn within that set distance so it’s more likely that more zombie pigmen can “sense” you which would improve rates. AFAIK render/sim distance doesn’t affect mobcap anymore

its not worth it imo. if you have a good gold farm keeping the gold swords will require an unstackable item filter of sorts to separate the swords from the stackable items, need a furnace array, if its automated all you have to worry about is the fuel source, if not (which i highly doubt will be the case with a really good gold farm but let's just say that is the case due to not having the resources for an auto furnace array for example) then you would have to worry about the storage of the unstackable items AND the fuel for the furnaces. granted beginner farms it is a good idea to smelt the swords for the extra gold if you really need it. but ian's design is roughly 360 gold blocks/hour. with that design and how efficient it is you don't have to spend a lot of time to make it and you dont have to smelt the gold swords into nuggets

my farm is fully afk so when the pigman die because of fall damage, they wont drop any sword so its so comfortable, but in my skyblock world i have to do kill the pigman so its kinda annoying to smelt the golen sword so i just burn all of them, even the rotten flesh and the gold because i have too much gold and its my xp grinding too lol

If u want to avoid getting hurt by the magma blocks without having to hold crouch you can wear frost walker boots and you won’t take damage from them.

The "low" rates from 10 minutes farm are caused by the missing effect of the Looting 3 - you kill manualy at 10 sec and 1 minute farm. Smelting the swords is a way to go, so the final rates would be a bit different. Me and my bro build a gold farm few days ago and we chose the bunker design (5x5 inner space) with double line of hoppers around it. In basement is the Furnace, so you can smelt the swords immediately (lava is used for fuel). My bro goues out to agro the pinky guys and then we just smash them with our Looting 3 swords. We had 3 stacks of gold ingots in like 30 minutes.

@@1bingbongtingtong1 No he didn't, he had 128 gold ingots and 4 gold nuggets after 30 minutes, which is exactly 2 stacks of gold and a few nuggets. For this person here, 3 stacks is 192 gold ingots. Meaning that yes, using looting three is much more effective than using a normal sword without it.

The 10 minute farm might take a bit longer, but holy cow was it worth it! I afk'd for 1 night and got enough nuggets to make over 2 stacks of gold blocks! Recommend expanding your storage or filtering if you need more that 6 double chests and all hoppers full. Thanks!

I noticed at 1:32, he was crouching, preventing the sweep attack; rates would probably increase if he dug down one more block (2 block tall pillar) and didn't crouch (kills them faster) also you forgot the 1 second farm: build up two blocks

I’ve done a bit of a combination of the first two on my survival world. I dug a 19 block deep hole with a collection system on the bottom, with trapdoors on the top edge of the hole. Then, when I need gold or xp, I go and hit one of the pigmen that gather not far away, and hop onto a floating block with a ladder attached, so they can’t follow me onto it. Then, I wait for all the pigmen to fall in the hole, and then collect the spoils and xp below. And if I need more, I just exit and then re-enter the nether and repeat the process

If you are going to AFK over night with the last design you will need a lot more chests. You can filter out the rotten flesh and just keep the nuggets

I always keep the rotten flesh and sell them to clerics, so basically you have a gold/emerald farm. You can also place clerics next to the collection system, so you don't have to transport the flesh to the overworld

Actually, if you make spawning platforms 25 blocks away from your afk platform and make killing chamber around you with wither roses, add 4 renamed "baiters" - and it's basically afk EXP + Gold farm. Also, it works with enchantings on your gear, but you don't have to hit them at all. Sure, it might take a bit more time and resources for platforms, but it's surely MUCH efficient. And you can replace nametags with boats to keep zombies at place and prevent them from despawning.

Little tip, if you don't wanna mine magma blocks just craft them. Set up a blaze farm and a slime chunk farm. Easy profit while doing nothing. I just afked at my farms while at work and got everything I needed. (8hrs at each farm) Then it's easier to build instead of spending a couple hours mining magma blocks.

I have an idea, big Project Idea !! Find a nether fortress in the nether waste, on lava ocean, spawn proof the entire spawnable area around it, specifically around a blaze spawner, build a blaze farm, Now go on top of the ball farm, above bedrock and build a gold farm, break a few bedrocks as well, make a sorting system of course, and direct the swords to be spat down threw the hole in the bedrock ceiling, it should shoot down to a few hoppers down under the blaze farm to another storage, the blaze farm in here can be for both blaze rods and exp of course, and make a hopper line to collect blaze rods and direct them to a furnace array the smelts the fallen golden swords, of course you can add a lever that redirects the rods from the furnace array to a storage spot utilizing some sticky Pistons and hoppers if that's possible

quick tip for every gold farms you should lower your render distance to 2 and simulation distance to 5 it will increase a huge difference i think

you could try building ianxofour's gold farm. i believe it takes roughly 10mins to build but it is a lot simpler than the 10 min gold farm shown here as it requires 0 magma blocks and the rates are MUCH higher than all 3 designs

I had the same issue and the problem was piglins need 2 air blocks above the egg. So you need to have eggs floating in the air and not standing on anything.

I built the one minute farm on bedrock edition and it's great, it works, but if I hit a pigmen with my bow only three of them agro towards me and then I hit them in the pit and none of the others agro, I don't know why

a tip for if anyone who built the third farm and it's not working: double check that mob griefing is turned on for your save (/gamerule mobGriefing true). if it's off, it'll stop the piglins from targeting the turtle eggs and they'll just stand around idle on the magma blocks

Ok quick question is this applicable for Java edition. Because i tried making one on my server which is run by JAVA but there no mobs spawning on the farm i have been afk for almost 1h yet no gold. Btw i choose to make the 3rd farm and i already completed it with no mistake

you're farm has to be above a Nether Wastes Biome
