He's a motivational speaker, author, radio DJ, former television host, and former politician.
As a motivational speaker, he uses the catch phrase "it's possible!" and teaches people to follow their dreams as he learned to do.
He was the host of The Les Brown Show.
He's Les Brown and here are his Top 10 Rules for Success.

1. #Believe in yourself
He was born with his twin brother, Wesley, in an abandoned building in a low-income section of Miami.
2. Amaze your customers
He was subsequently given up for adoption and adopted by Mamie Brown, a 38-year-old single woman who worked as a domestic assistant.
3. Take full responsibility for your life
He was declared "educably mentally retarded" while in grade school.
4. Stand up to yourself
Despite the self-esteem issues this created, he learned how to reach his full potential with the encouragement of his mother and assistance by a helpful teacher in high school.
5. Go All Out
He first decided to get into public radio and kept returning to the same radio station time and time again looking for a break.
6. Stay busy
Upon his termination from the radio station, he ran for election in the Ohio House of Representatives and won.
7. Give more than you are paid for
After leaving the Ohio state legislature, he decided to get into television and eventually ended up on PBS.
8. Someone's opinion is not your reality
He also formed Les Brown Enterprises in order to support his newest career as a motivational speaker.
9. You're different
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he also won many local and national awards for excellence and he has an Emmy to his name.
10. Don't stop running towards your dream
In 1993, he began hosting a new talk show, The Les Brown Show, which began airing on September 6, 1993.

The last one meant the most to me. I'm a single dad of two single girls who went from having a million dollars in the bank to flat broke due to some bad investment decisions. Working my way back strongly now, each of the last 3 years have been great progress over the previous one, and it does feel like a miracle... but Les Brown and others like him were ringing in my headphones, while I was delivering newspapers at 3:30am asking "why me?" and feeling embarrassed about my bills, and afraid of the legacy I was going to be leaving to my two girls.

Rule #10 was most impactful for me today. I used to think that I couldn't share the powerful, positive beliefs that I have until I could prove myself financially successful. Hearing Les Brown say that he was on stage, encouraging others to pursue their dreams while he was broke AND still pursuing his dreams is incredibly inspiring! I shall continue on and I will succeed! Since I discovered Les on here myife has changed. I have always complained, stressed about not being able to make any extra money as a single parent. Les Brown rocks!! I just love him. There was a time of great stress in my life a few years ago, when I was so unhappy in my work, and I would listen to him everyday while giving 110% at my job. I look back now and see even more how helpful he was. #Believe

I couldnt imagine the successes in business that I've had without the teachings of this man. For that matter in life in general. Studied his tapes way before the internet or social media. I love listening Les Brown. I listened him life in Poznan (Poland) and online or from my phone. Every signle rule is great but for me #8 is the best cause we all have to keep in mind that opinions of other people can be good or bad bud at the end of the day it's all about what we think about ourselves. This man is great. The way he talks, it is almost like he talks from the heart. he talks loud and clear, made me remember when i was at military service. The other guys talk very low. When he talks gives some sense of authority and respect. Hope some day shake hands to him.

For me, motivational speeches are truly what keeps me going. I find it hard sometimes to push myself whether I am low on funds, rather just be in the background and yada. But I know my purpose is greater than that. My favorite rule is #1, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!! No matter how cliche this may be. I believe that you are your own biggest fan, and you can be your own biggest enemy. So in order to win you have got to be at the finish line rooting for yourself on this journey!
