Bulleid Pacific "257 Squadron " works hard climbing the steep incline between Rolvenden and Tenterden on the beautiful Kent and East Sussex Railway.
Many people never thought that they would see such a large locomotive at work on this "light railway" . Truly a magnificent sight!

@@railwaymaniacs7392 your very welcome, 257 was actually the first steam locomotive I ever saw. If it hadn’t been for her, I wouldn’t be the same as I am now. Thank you for that 😀

Good to see her "stretching her legs". One question: I don't see or hear anyone firing the locomotive. Is this a stoker-fired engine, or a remarkably quiet fireman?

The fireman was the chap you could see looking out of the windows (left hand drive loco). The loco set off from Rolvenden Station and climbs the steep incline to Tenterden where it terminates and runs around its train. To save coal the fireman has already stoked the fire with enough coal to climb the hill. Adding anymore may cause the safety valve to lift when the loco is at idle in the station as the steam isn't getting used.

/Left/ hand drive? I thought everything from oxcarts to aircraft was /right/ hand drive (except US-style automobiles) for good reasons. What's the story here? @@railwaymaniacs7392

There wasn't a set standard on what side the driver sat at the time. Different regions had different preferences.
