Sibelius XML Import Export

We demonstrate how to export a file as .xml in Sibelius and discuss the difference between compressed and uncompressed .xml files. Importing .xml files can be challenging as layout information can be lost, but we provide tips on how to improve the process, such as manually selecting page size, applying your own house styles, and adding instruments yourself.

Thank you! I had some really weird glitch where it was like two scores laid on top of each other so my pages were a cluttered mess, but now it's a lot better :3

I wish Sibelius (Avid) would invest a little more effort into the process of importing MusicXML files. Currently (November 2023), Sibelius does its best to translate as much as possible, but often (sometimes?) creates a mess behind the scenes that cannot be fixed through usual "resets." I wish all the notation software companies would spend more time talking together to make MusicXML more reliable across a larger swath of notational needs. Great video.
