Absolutely wonderful, fantastic and heartwarming to see not only siblings dancing together but also entire families. If I'm not mistaken at around the 00:40 minutes mark there's a mother, father and their two children dancing together. Just so touching 🥰 and it really makes my heart feel good, warm and fuzzy❣ I would imagine that the easiest way for a 1st child to learn the traditional dances, is from watching and copying their own parents. Any subsequent children would likely find copying and imitating their older sibling(s) the quickest and easiest way to learn to do the traditional dances. Most younger siblings want to do whatever it is that their older siblings are doing, as they generally idolize their older siblings and want to be just like them. First and only children usually see it as a way of being all grown up too, lol they want to do whatever their parent of the same gender (again not always, just a generalization) is doing so they can be seen as all grown up too... I'm not of Indigenous decent myself, but I do have family that is. I have 7 cousins who are. My Dad's youngest brother's wives were both First Nations Indigenous, and with his 1st wife he had 4 children, who are within 8 years my juniors (I'm the eldest grandchild on both Dad's and Mom's sides of the family) anyway we live in Southern Ontario and they use to live in Manitoba in the Winnipeg area. We would visit with them in the summers for usually around 3 to 4 days as the rest of the week or so was driving time..lol in the late 70's very early 80's... I was very fortunate enough to get to go to Pow Wow's usually each time we visited. I remember having an absolutely amazing time! I remember dancing around a huge campfire when it got dark. For some reason the one dance I remember the easiest was the big circle dance. I remember having a man dressed in a medium shade of brown leather, with lots of fringe on his shirt sleeves and he was wearing moccasins. I loved them and drove my mom crazy asking for a pair of my own...lol anyway he was teaching me how to do the proper footwork and I remember feeling so proud, happy and excited when he praised me when I got it right and kept it up... I have nothing but good, positive memories of going to visit my cousins and to the Pow Wow's. I truly think that everyone who lives in Canada or America should go and experience a Pow Wow at least once in their lifetime. They should also research and learn about the different types of First Nations Indigenous Peoples that live across North America and especially in the area that they themselves live. Canadian's and American's need to get at least a basic knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the First Nations Indigenous Peoples. We all need to start to ensure that they are treated as equally as everyone else is, they need to be given the respect and dignity they rightly deserve! When an Indigenous Man, Woman or child, goes missing the police need to treat the case as diligently, and with the exact same time attention, care, and compassion as they would for a "white" person. Skin colour, race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation should NOT matter in the least. Every life matters, everyone has family that loves them and would worry about and miss them.
