FILM DESCRIPTION:
FBI agent Matt Graver calls on mysterious operative Alejandro Gillick when Mexican drug cartels start to smuggle terrorists across the U.S. border. The war escalates even further when Alejandro kidnaps a top kingpin's daughter to deliberately increase the tensions. When the young girl is seen as collateral damage, the two men will determine her fate as they question everything that they are fighting for.

I only feel bad for the kid who got shot, he decided to be moral and was penalized for it and kid who shot him gets rewarded, a very bad message. As for Alejandro, he is a sicario, so his death is no big deal, and it severely damaged what credibility the film had left when he is shown to be still alive , quite hilario and very stupid all this

@@CaesarCassius that’s the point, it’s not a good thing. He was weak to kill but was there to become one. Basically failed the test and since he knew about them and stuff alike. He was a risk. And an example, if you want to become a sicario don’t waste their time, do what needs to be done or ordered to do and done. No time for feelings or thought. You literally have to be evil to function and understand.

I think its potentially the realisation of what evil deeds her family have committed, just to live a life of luxury. All the things she's had has been a direct result of other people's misery and suffering. She finally got a taste of it.

When Isabel went from crying and struggling to just complete silence ☹️ Alejandro's "death" made her numb to the violence and death around her, you can even see it when Matt and co. rescued her, she didn't struggle anymore and looked dead on the inside

He may not know who shot him but he knows that he got shot because the kid ID'd him. If it wasn't for the kid recognizing him, he would have crossed the border and got the girl to safety.

No, it's not. He sees the kid in the scene before this and instantly recognizes him as the kid who walked in front of their car which braked in the parking lot to avoid hitting him. The kid recognizes Alejandro as the man in the car who yelled at him to watch where he was going. So, he recognized the kid as the one who obviously recognized him. When the kid is ordered to make his first kill, it is obvious it is because he's a new initiate and he's the one who IDd him. Alejandro understood this as they were alluding to this in the Spanish conversation when the leader gave the gun to the kid. Also, when Alejandro broke free and made his way to the shot up vehicles in the road, he saw the kid was not among the dead bodies. That's how he knew his shooter was still alive and not only tracked him down, but watched him for a year before deciding to make him an offer to train him as a sicario and let him live...which sucked.

I loved this scene so much because it wasn't overdone. No helicopters flying in to stop it, the kid not killing the other guys to aid Alejandro, no overly-dramatic bullshit, nothing to stop his murder. It was over and done with just like that.

I love how they had a badass character like alejandro scared and pleading for his life even tho he was a man with nothing to lose. Man movies and shows like to show characters in situations like this showing that they don’t care or are not terrified. In reality, this is the closest feelings to how someone in that position would feel. No matter how broken they are. Death is scary, no matter how much we want to pretend it’s not. But a death like this with your eyes taped and not knowing what will happen to you after also knowing what cartels are capable of would leave anyone scared.

This was one of the saddest and unbelievable moment of cinema history. Alejandro's desperate struggle to survive - 'cause it's not the time for him to die as there's still the most important thing to do left - and Isabella's sad empty eyes with painful outcry made me almost tearful...And most importantly, his suprising wake up which maybe most of the audience wanted desperately was so stunning and miraculous. Now, I am happy that he's sill alive and makes his way to accomplish what he wanna and has to do.

The action intensity is what made Soldado unique compared to the first. Plus, what I love about Soldado was its organic machismo tone used throughout the whole film that Stefano Sollima incorporated from other Italian crime flicks he directed. Tbh, I actually enjoyed both, but I prefer the first since it's way much clever and effectively strained than Soldado.

There are many people who have survived shots to the head! And if you look the scene again, you will see he was shoot in the cheek, and the bullet probably exit at the jaw. So it didn't even damage his brain!

This scene that I really thought someone will rescue them at the last minute but I'm always surprised with this movie. Unpredictable. Sicario is underrated movie. I hope there's 3 and 4 because Brolin and del Toro are amazing in this movie.

The horrifying wheel of fortune - if the first kid had taken the shot, there would be no Sicario III. Only the second kid gave life (took life) to Alejandro. This movie is poetic almost.

I really felt the actor that played EL GALLO the main dude coercing people to kill Del Toro was on point. The dude is ruthless heartless stone cold. He also shows support to a certain extent to the rookies coming into the game.

I feel the subtitles also don't do justice to the delivery of his lines. Yes, the meaning is the same, but they don't capture the expressions of a northener mexican, which he's delivering spot on. I don't blame the translators, though. Mexican colloquialisms make little sense when translated most of the time. - "Hasta aquí llegaste, cuña'o", literally "This is as far as you get, brother in law". He even says "Cuña'o" instead of "Cuñado", this is a typical speech pattern in northern areas of Mexico. Of course, Alejandro shares no family relation to him, but the line works, because that's just how northeners talk. - "Jálele", literally "Pull it (The trigger)", translated to "Shoot him". - "Sin miedo, sin miedo", translated to "Be brave, no fear". It might sound cheesy to english speakers, but it's an actual expression used to cheer or hype each other up. Another common one is "Cero miedo" (Zero fear"), although that one I feel would actually feel a bit cheesy. The other guy's line too, "Yo me lo chingo, 'ta chiquito". Acting in an odd sense of compassion for his cousin (?). And all the lines they deliver in the stereotypical singsongy accent of northern Mexico. I'm glad they got actual mexican spanish speakers for these roles, I think it's the first time I've seen a movie do this. As opposed to the Isabella girl, who's spanish accent sounds more colombian.

From what I’ve scene n heard, it wouldnt have ended with one shot. They always shoot multiple head shots, often they burn or dismember bodies. They would’ve made absolutely sure Alejandro was dead. But this is a movie, before anyone says anything- I know

Thats why i didnt like this movie compared to logan or the first sincario. Why would Alejandro risk everything for Reyes's kid when Reyes ordered his family's deaths and Alejandro already killed a boss and his whole family. The movie feels like an unlikely tangent because he focuses on saving the girl rather than sticking to plan and getting Reyes they tried to make Alejandro a hero he wasnt.

She went into shock. The rest of the movie she didn't say anything and was pretty much in 'ragdoll' mode even as she was being used as a human shield later on. What she witnessed by this point completely broke her and this was the final straw.

What I like about this movie is it's realism. They could have gone all out fantasy and made Alexjandro's execution shot aim at the head. Then he somehow rose from the dead and drove away. However, surviving after getting shot in the face is much more believable because there has been real cases of people living after getting shot in the face.

Logical inconsistency: opening scene Alejandro pumps a whole clip into the lawyer to "make it look like the cartel did it", then when the cartel catches up to him, they only sling a single round into him? Naaaahhhh they would've emptied clips.

yagnouska not cg, just shooting blanks has no recoil at all. A major flaw in movies today. You see a thug wielding an Uzi and it doesn’t recoil at all when he one hands it sideways for a drive by shooting.

I think its a cg shot, since there doesnt seem to fly any casing after he has taken the shot :/, plus there doesnt seem to be any lighting coming from the gun apart from the tip of the barrel. its probably a gas gun or a airsoft gun with blowback to give to the kid actors so theydont have to deal with real guns. I know these are not that important but atleast for me i enjoy movies with good gunplay ( like first sicario had)

likaboss7654 That specific shot CG, as well as the one before it. You can tell because the muzzle flash doesn’t affect the lighting around it. It was probably done because that didn’t want to be firing blanks at someone’s head at that range. It doesn’t look that great though; they should have used something like a nongun instead. However, for most of the film they use regular blanks.

Blanks do not have any recoil, that’s why it’s up to the actor to reenact physical motion from the gun.

Making a kid kill him is such a brilliant move for the plot. Not only it is real, as cartels do practice such "initiation" stuff, but cause only an amateur child could not see he shot his jaw, not the brain.

What's more sad is the on Matt's face and his unresponsive towards those around him then his emotions took over. Even tho he did right by killing all the guys, he could be punished for his actions.
