Wow! The alto stands out well enough that I can finally hear that part not overwhelmed by sopranos. As an alto who can use all the help she can get, I found this a treasure. I have been able to sing along with her while still hearing the other parts. It is a lovely, lovely rendition of this beautiful piece. For all of those whose comments focused on the visuals and found body attitude, etc. of the singers, I have two pieces of advice.: 1. Scroll down so that you don't have to view the video and just listen. The performance of this piece of music is so beautiful. All sections are evenly balanced. And the audio is what is important. 2. Take a reality check. This was filmed at a rehearsal! Yes, the alto has her hands in her thumbs in her pockets and sways a bit. Yes, the soprano looks like she is wearing a nightgown. Yes, the tenor is wearing jeans. It is only a rehearsal. Such uppity comments show a lack of common sense and seem rather like those a Pharisee might make.

Of all the performances of Sicut Cervus posted online, especially of the tempo and the blending of SATB, this is my favorite. I am a tenor and sing this for our choir. I have improved my part from listening to your beautiful singing! You guys are AWESOME!

Thank you so much! I know it seems like a little thing, but it means soo much to me that you guys did the song after my request. All of your voices are amazing and things like this, the way youtube and technology let people from around the world interact and enjoy each others talent, is what makes life truly a wonderful gift. Thanks again and keep up the excellent work. You just made a young man from Southern California's day/week/year :)

Grazie.

Wowwzers...I'm actually student conducting this piece for the Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon this term. It's my favorite Latin sacred piece of all time. I remember when I first sang it as a freshman in high school. It changed my life. Thank you so much for sharing, it was a blessing. :)

I first heard this piece performed by a schola of approximately a dozen women, and while it was very lovely, there is much to be said for having a smaller group perform it, to bring out its many subleties. A very sublime performance -- thank you!

I sent the link to this video to all of the members of the choir in which I sing. Many replied that they found it quite lovely. And guess what we performed this piece better last night than we had in long time. We all helped that listening to it helped us.

It is actually not that hard a score. The notes are not hard to sing or read, but it is really beautifully written. What i noted in this video however is that their voices are very different from one another. It makes the pieces almost avant-garde like at times. It's very interesting sung.
you are all blessed with such heavenly voices!-especially the stunning dani!!!

There were some spots where I questioned your vowel shaping. Also there were times when you had trouble staying in pitch (you tended to fall just flat). I am I my schools chamber choir and we sang this song at the beginning of the year, we were chosen as the best choir in the state of Minnesota and will be singing at the Minnesota Music Educators Association convention in February. Feel free to check us out!
