@@KaleFGB no he just doesnt have an MVP, Richard trophy, 3 Stanley cups, 2 Conn smythes and been a point per game player for 16 consecutive seasons

@@JG2K because, as Brendon Shanahan and Brett Hull said, he sacrifices so much of his offensive game to be better defensively. sorry Datsyuk has 2 cups, 4 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, 3 Frank J. Selke Trophy, while still putting up 97 points and would have more if he didn't go back to Russia. I'm a Pens fan but stop being stupid.

@@KaleFGB datsyuk only put up more that 70 points 4 times in the nhl in 14 seasons. Datsyuk like everyone else washes sidneys car for him

I realize he already plays huge minutes, but I often wonder why they don’t play Sid more on the penalty kill at the point in the same manner they used Mario. With Sid’s skating and stick skills, I’m think he could poke loose a puck and be off to the races the other direction for a SHG.

true. i think its more of not only just not wanting to give him even more minutes but also because we don’t need crosby blocking shots and stuff like that. when healthy, we have people like bluegar and tanev who do great on the pk. no reason to put your number 1 player out there just to make him lose more energy and potentially get hurt e

Mario was hurt for his entire career and was used extensively on the penalty kill. 49 SHGs or something ridiculous like that. The next all time SHG scorer for the Pens on the list isn’t even close.

@@flyjarrett Mario is a great GM too. He didn't have the protection that he gives Crosby. Seems rare to see owners and GM's who actually care about the players. They def see rhem as assets but ML actually cares about Crosby and I believe Crosby will retire with the same mindset. The Pens should be the best team in hockey for years to come. Each year taking a real shot at the cup.
