Took me a while to finish this but this is essentially my love letter to the Devil May Cry series. I've been a fan of the series for a very long time and I never expected I'd be able to make Devil Sword Dante since it's the most complicated weapon I've seen in the series.

Thank you! It did take a while since it wasn't smooth sailing. From figuring out how to make the parts, multiple do-overs, and paint selection. But I'm happy with how it turned out! :D

They usually sell a lot of these here in the Philippines. Like outside local hardware stores. Tho the ones I get only get up to 5mm thickest, rarely. That's why I have to stack layers a lot using contact cement. I think you could also buy them online. They're called Eva foam or rubber sheets.

I found you on the berserk armor and my first reaction is Wow that fucking insane it must take ages to complete And then I wondered samus armor could be doable but I wonder the cost of such a thing

Thank you so much! It did take some time but it was all worth the time. There are still parts of that armor I want to improve later on but I'm happy with the results. For Samus Aran's armor, quite a bunch of EVA foam and TIME. Its definitely doable to :D

That would make sense with the motif of Devil May Cry as Dante is a devil and devils and dragons in old medieval Christian folklore have always depicted as related to one another. Dragons being a symbol of evil, greed, death, menace, wrath, all these things with association that only the "valiant knight shall slay the dragon". Also the Red Dragon is shown as the "Biblical Satan". And the name Dracula derives itself from the name "son of devil" or "son of dragon". It's really fascinating to me how much thought was put into designs like these. Maybe I'm over-analyzing, but it's just more fun to see it that way :D

This is a really great video!! This build is so freaking cool! I just got a 3D printed Devil Sword Dante today, but it needs to be painted, so I was wondering what paints you used for the build.

For the core, I did a first base of bright yellow, then dabbed orange on the raised areas for the cooled off lava part, then black for the crusty areas of the lava. As for the Damascus pattern, it's 7 layers of dark grey and silver alternating with the silver ending on the top :D

Hello! I was wondering where I could get the 3d print for the hinge mechanism and the mesurments for the metal pole. Keep up the great work!

It actually wasn't 3D printed. I made the mechanism with heated up and flattened down PVC pipes, then cut to shapes for the parts. The footages were accidentally deleted during my pre-editing process so I wasn't able to show it ._, I'm sorry for that.

Im working on my first foam project not really much of a cosplay and i wanted to know how you cover your seam lines, most videos say kwik seal but i kwik seal isn't sold much in asia and if it is its very expensive, at least here in the Philippines .

when i connect 2 pieces using contact cement usually its pretty sturdy and good, but you can still see that its 2 separate pieces. I wanted to cover it up so that it looks clean, like i said usually people use a filler to remove the gap, like this one kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qs13ocmBsuC4oaM.html

@@GJA-hy8hn ah, I think that depends on how you cut the two pieces. If there's a rounded edge on the two pieces, chances are the seams will be visible. I usually make my seams as thin as possible so when I connect them it's like a uniform piece But in cases there are still seams left there are two options. 1. Sand it, use a 200 grit then 600. But be careful cuz it might roughen it up too much 2. Baking soda. Put baking soda on the gaps, flatten it with something to make sure it's even and level, then put drops of shoe glue/Greco (cyanoacrylate). It will harden really quick. Then you can sand them carefully 😁

Your hard work paid off, it looks awesome! Nice job 👏 What happened with the x-act blade? I tend to break off the bits when it gets dull, i don't change the entire blade. It has marks along the way so you break the first bit (with the help of the handle part) and then use the next bit.

Thank you so much! I'm really happy of how it turned out ♥️ Ah that part, with those blades I do snap them off. But there are instances that I cut huge portions that when the blade dulls because, I use a sharpening tool to resharpen them. But it sometimes sharpen the edge too thin that it turns a straight edge to like a saw-teeth like edge due to some parts of the edge thinning and breaking off, resulting in a cut with scratches inside the cross-section. That's why I have spare blades when I over sharpen one 😁

@@birdgirl69 Thank you! I had to be extra like that cuz Dante is extra the same 💀 Yep! Also EVA dulls cutters real quick and I've had accidents with dull blades a lot so I'm a lot more confident with cutting even if I had to sharpen every 3-4 cutting strokes.
