It's technically not planet wide, nut there was only the 1 citadel on Vraks, with a frontline significantly shorter than the one on the Eastern front of world war 2. 12 million is still a fairly low number given the lenght of the seige and style of fighting it entailed, so it could probably be doubled, but 12 million still isn't unreasonable given it was only 1 fort, and didn't include the Vraksian casualties, just the Death Korp ones.

Part of me wonders why norther and eastern most first line didn’t stay put because they had the line going from the second line into the rear of the first one so the western line could’ve retreated to the second line and the line in between the two and prolonged the siege even more it makes me wonder why they didn’t just do that

I thoroughly enjoyed Arch's series covering the siege in extensive detail, before I knew he was a racist pos. A lot of phrases and comments by him wich just made me raise an eyebrow came crashing back down upon learning if his behavior. Anyways, I still look back fondly on the experience of listening to DAYS worth of audio detailing this war, all be it with a slightly sour taste now.
