Considering, that Steiner is a German and the forces of Krieg mimic the WW1 Germans/Prussia I am not so sure the cardinal will be happy to hear this... unless Steiner here is an Armageddon Steel Legion commander, who turned traitor.

Bad german. "Der Krieg ist verloren" = The War is lost and "Wo alle Straßen enden" = Where all streets are ending Now its correct.

This video really highlights just how thinned defenders actually were. The fact that Krieg army managed to march through the swamp shows that there were barely any troops left defending, barring plague zombies. Collapse of all other defensive lines proved the same. This is partly, because defenders were exhausted and partly, because Chaos warriors already got their fill and were preparing to evacuate from the planet via warp portals. Titans and veteran armies of Vraks escaped to plague Imperium for centuries to come.

Yes the Vraksians are truly wavering at this point. The constant bombing raids and titans at their very doorstep are definitely paying of. Areas that were once highly defended are now rolling over to die. Next video will start delving into that.

Chaos wasn't done just yet, I think. Some were pulling out, but the Khornates were very hyped about Anggrath. It wasn't until the greater demon was banished that Chaos morale crumbled and traitor marines bailed out en masse.

Prob some chaos marines from nurgle summoned some lesser nurgle demons as backup but i think the massive artillery strikes destroyed them.

I don't know the lore and I'm holding back learning it so that this series can teach me. I don't think that ALL enemy forces were trapped in the citadel, there were some nurgle forces that escaped to the south after the battle. I can't help but feel like they are going to be a problem later.

Haven't read up on the lore of the Siege of Vraks so I don't know what happens next, but if I know anything about Warhammer Battles, any character thinking that a siege or drawn out battle would end soon is a sign that it most certainly will not

I had assumed Kagori was unlike his predessesor and had remained in orbit of Vraks for his tenure as lord commander. I don't see why you would ever command a theatre that many systems away. Relying on Psykers to give command instructions seems unnessisarily risky.

I love these strategic breakdown types of videos being applied to 40k lore. So far Vraks is sounding like equal parts "Space Eastern Front" and "Space Vietnam". Visceral description of the fighting. Very neat.

Tbh, it's hard to imagine the regular, non-chaos Vraksians putting much of a fight anymore. What are even their objectives at this point? Their planet is a ruined wasteland, they have known only war for years, they are barely any of the original dissidents left, holed up in the citadel, their defences are completely overrun by decadent chaos forces... There is only one side this is a fun time for, and it's neither the Imperium nor the Vraksians. I must assume those who didn't give up and stand by rote force of habit have lost their mind to chaos completely.

A new Krieg civil war with the depth and detail of the Siege of Vrax would be AWESOME. Maybe there's an ecclesiastical schism pertaining to a larger plot point like the return of the emperor or something and the Krieg heirarchy fractures along lines of faith, and the whole planet becomes a Krieg vs Krieg sandbox. I could die happy.

Personally, I think Hector Rex is one of the biggest Mary Sues in the entirerty of 40k. He's nearly a Space Marine, a Psyker, a Lord Inquisitor, has a master-crafted relic sword, command over an entire space sector, an entire legion of followers and effectively a space marine chapter, can 1-on-1 a Bloodthirster (and not just any 'thirster)...I mean, can this guy get any more OP? He basically causes the Grey Knights (!) to fade into the background as mundane.
