A lot of the Deadliest Catch fans would love a whole episode dedicated to the life/ history of each boat, get into specifics of how it was built back in the day and all of its upgrades over the years etc. We've gotten a little bit here and there but nothing in detail.

Maintenance... kind of important in saltwater. Everywhere I've ever worked, cranes are neglected until they break and inspections are mostly on the cables and emergency stops. Nobody ever pulls pins.

I mean. Considering lost income and cost of replacing or repairing that crane. Id say he handled that pretty well. I've seen people have a stroke over less.

When the summer bay laid over on its side that should be an hour show about how they survive.

The operators only mistake was bringing the boom over and putting the head down on the deck he could have brought a little bit more in and left it floating just above the deck so they could have lashed it off but I understand he was under a little bit of pressure mistakes do happen least they didn't lose the head in the water

What impresses me the most is how they keep their balance in such rough seas. I know it takes practice but still, it's impressive.

lmao sigs blowups are always funny to me. man comes from an old money fishing family, and carried that success well into his adulthood, passing it onto his children, even. him pretending to be financially ruined every time something goes wrong, never gets old lmao. man has more money than any of us would ever want, im sure. he owns or co-owns multiple boats and has stakes in other peoples fishing as well. a simple crane breaking is a minor annoyance to him and his funds, im positive. so yeah its always fun to see him act up the "well were fucked" moment for discovery channel.
