I bought the S000-18 this summer. Very comfortable to play and it sounds really good. Best 800 euros spent this year! Glad you guys spread the word on these Sigma guitars. Don't forget it is not surprising Sigma "copies" Martin guitars since Martin started the Sigma brand in the 70's.

Yesterday I had the chance to give Sigma guitars a try and I have to say I was really impressed in every aspect. The most basic model goes around 300e and was way better than some epiphones for that price. The sound was round but crisp, warm but clear and I think I could buy that just for hanging in the wall because the wood was beautiful, indeed. Hope some day I could afford one of them couse it seems like a nice guitar for years

Tested the Sigma 000m15 against its less affordable counterpart a few years ago, with every intention of buying the more expensive brand. So little was the difference in tone and feel, I walked out of the shop with the Sigma and bought a twenty six bedroom maison with the change.

I think it's ok to mention them with Martin. They get the wood from Martin and Martin allows them to use their script on the headstock. BTW, have had a Sigma DM-18 for over 20 years. Love it.

I challenge you to make a test of Sigma SG Advanced versus Gibson J45. I just spend the day in a big guitar shop trying the Sigma against Gibson and Martin acoustics. Please, give it a try ... The SG Advanced is amazing.

I've a Chinese made guitar with the same specs as that 000, also totally copying a vintage Martin, so very similar. I have to say it sounds great, so these probably do too. I prefer the look of a dreadnaught, but the smaller shape is more playable.

The s000 is a little misleading as it has the same 635mm scale length as the sdm18. Therefore it is equivalent to an om18 not a 00018 - style

As stated below they are sold as Kindred in the US. Martin don't have any say in the matter as they gave up the brand name when they sold the brand to another US music company (St. Louis Music ) it's St. Louis Music that basically told the now German owned Sigma guitar company they couldn't use the name and forced them rebrand as Kindred for the North American market

Tonewood and bracing... this is an acoustic instrument so they matter enormously. It's electric guitars that you can make out of cardboard.

My mate has the Sigma 000 and I have a "Martin" dreadnought jnr, his guitar is way better in every way. Don't buy names on headstocks. Sigma are really good guitars. A real American Martin 0M28 is unbelievably good, but it's what, 3 grand?
