Dude that's actually a brilliant idea. I would even take an F2. It doesn't need an aperture ring or anything. Just drop it to f2, 28-50 ff equivalent, weather resistance and you're right I would buy that instantly.

thanks for this review andre! How do you think the lens would perform for night photography ? I have an XT4, and am hoping the IBIS would give me abit of extra stability to use this lens at night

I’ve been using it for a year, it’s an absolutely fantastic lens. The only things I don’t love is lack of the ap ring and it’s slightly cool rendering makes matching video to much warmer Fuji lenses a bit annoying.

Used it quite some time on Sony apsc and without the in-camera-correction the distortion is pretty heavy. If your software can't fix this in post, you're stuck with jpeg only. ...which doesn't really matter in the fujisphere. Thanks for the video!

Really cant wait for the sigma 50-140 2.8, hopefully it will be smaller and cheaper than the fuji version

What about the color of sigma versus Fuji lenses? I really like the Fuji color, and haven’t used sigma before.

Nice comparison but you failed to mention the close focus distance of the Sigma, which adds an additional aspect to its bag of tricks. It is weather sealed at the mount with a gasket which will protect your camera body from intrusion at the mount, thus keeping a WR body protected from the elements to some extent.

Used it for 6 months for professional work and travel. For photography it's alright. On my 40mp X-H2 it's super sharp at 18mm but you can see some chromatic aberration on contrasty subjects at 50mm. The Sigma also loses focus and hunts a little bit when you continuous focus while zooming in and out. It's an amazing lens for video work and travel, but i'll grab my Fuji 16-55 for paid photography work.

How is the autofocus working for video work? I am confused which one to get between this and 16-55 for video. I can get a used 16-55 for the same price as new sigma 18-50.

Great lenss ive been using it around a year! i like it but i feel like it misses some of the fujifilm magic which leads me to barley use it :(

Only thing keeping me from buying this is the lack of an aperture ring. Also, I'd happily give up some reach on the long end in exchange for a smaller lens. More lens makers should invest R&D into making high quality pancake lenses.

Out of 100 that's score 50, that's why your video is not reaching out to the people and you have not many subscribers, views, likes, watch time and comments.
