KIBBE BOOK Metamorphosis: amzn.to/2Jw7Qfv
🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.
I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.
Love x x x

Also, it's not just women who want to look good, men try their hardest to look good and affluent too, there's a version of this system for men.

@@mariasmith2198 It's very common knowledge that the media tries to present only one specific body type as the "good" one while making the others seem "flawed", which explains why it seems unattainable by most women. Also these are just guidelines, not commandments; in the end you decide if you apply them to your body or not.

I think she's misusing the word "accurate" throughout the video... In Russian the word is used to describe something that is aesthetically neat and clean looking. In English however it's not used in the same context, it's used to refer to precision in context of data etc, which is why some people are confused.

it depends more if you are an apple type with hardly any waist, then oversized but not layering is best, or if you have a waist, you should wear a lot of longer skater dresses and ballerina skirts with a tighter top, and can further emphasize the waist with belts. Oversized 80's style high rise suit trousers with belts. Kristen from Buzzfeed has a very round shape but she always wears that kind of dress because she has a slight waist

Accentuate the parts of your body you want to show off. Balance is key, too. The point of wearing clothes do such things like "fixing" is to emphasize other parts of your body. If you are chubby you dont want to wear something that emphasizes your size, you will wear something that emphasizes the actual shape your body has (because chubby girls are not all apple shapes). If youre short you wear extreme length pants (short or long) to elongate the legs. You want the entirety of your leg to be visible whether its the actual skin or its the shape through some jeans (pants dont have to be tight but the style does depend on your body type and where your curves are)
@josephinewinter
@josephinewinter 5 жыл бұрын
i used to work in a clothes shop and 'petite' means 'short'. If your top, your legs or both are short, buying 'petite' but in your size - you can be a petite 18 or 20 for instance (although the sizes tend to be smaller than most modern ones) - will help your clothes fit better. Having the waist on your waist especially helps with jackets and dresses. The single most important fit, especially for jackets and coats, is the shoulder seam, which should fit right on the shoulder bone, which is like your shoulder corner but slightly down from the top, not much. (Same if you have long body or legs - buying brands for long bodies will help them fit better.) I watched over and over again as people bought the wrong fit because it was cheaper then returned it because i didn't fit and moaned 'things never fit me'. It can be hard to tell, but trying on a petite or long brand ('minuet petite', 'long tall sally' etc) will tell you in an instant! NB note i said if your top or your legs - i have a long body and short legs, the opposite of most women and not attractive. But i look a lot better in petite trousers and long top, it helps not hinders. I learnt my shape only through working there. And how to fold clothes really fast correctly, and the importance of knitwear and jacket hangers in not ruining your stuff, and linen creases just hanging up, you don't need to even wear it. And nothing else.

I really love this video because she didn't tell how to "alter" the image of your body type, like tall to look short, curvy to look thin as she has said. She's giving ideas on how to make your clothes harmonizes with your silhouette. In composition, having a curve in the middle of straight line will contrast each other, giving probably unwanted attention. But if you put straight lines with straight lines, it will create harmony. Of course you can use this if you actually want to make contrast to something. You must learn the rules before you break it!

It really helps put things into perspective! You're amazing! Sidenote, do you also think it is possible to use people who have larger frames with more fat, and muscle? Also those that are very thin? Also, maybe you can do a video on more ethnic features and where they fall into these categories? Like, those with undefined nose bridges, and big lips? It makes it easier to visualize! Thanks again!

I believe that I'm a soft natural. I really feel my best wearing unstructured clothing, soft materials, layering. But here's the problem, that way of dresssing it's fantastic when I'm dressing casual, but the moment I need to dress more formal, let's say in a professional enviroment, I look underdressed. But if I try to wear something more taylored, like a suit, it looks awful, it looks boxy, heavy and I feel miserable. So my question, how to dress in way that I feel confortable in, that goes with my bodytype, but makes me look formal, professional and polished. And I think , other bodytypes might have the opposite problem, like classics. Yes, they look amazing in a well fitted, taylored jacket but there are situations were that's not appropiated, and they want to wear something more relaxed. Or what happens if a dramatic wants to look more feminine or a romantic likes to look more edgy?
@cianap.281
@cianap.281 6 жыл бұрын
I'd love to see that video-- celebs dressing "against type," breaking the "rules" etc. People do it and it can look great. Also IMO formal colors and monochrome can make layered soft unstructured clothes more polished (navy, black, white). And a bit of shiny metal jewelry always bumps it up a notch.

I have the same body type, quite top-heavy, that makes me seem boxy in tailored clothing, so I know the struggle. What I find very flattering and professional is wearing a suit that is slightly narrow at the ankle and longer blazers. If you do not want to wear a button down shirt, you could opt for a silk camisole with a V neckline inside or a wrap shirt that goes very well with our body type. Hope this helps.

If you've ever watched Sex and the City, basically, I spent my entire life trying to dress like Charlotte when I had the body type of Samantha. Samantha is a soft dramatic. If you want more information, google David Kibbe body types. He goes very in depth. I have seen so many women look straight out of a Calvin Klein ad wearing a simple tee and jeans, but when I do that, I look like a hillbilly. Soft dramatics don't do so well in jeans. When you dress out outside your type, you end up looking "wrong" somehow. I love cute cardigans. I put one on, I look frumpy. Charlotte would rock a cardigan twin-set. Samantha, not so much.

This is so detailed and holistic and she must've invested so much time in it. Sometimes I look at men and classify them in the same way (dramatic, gamine classic etc). Because for men the internet usually describes them as three body types: ectomorphs, endomorphs and mesomorphs. It's usually from a bodybuilding point of view, of how the skinny ectomorphs or the heavy-set endomorphs should try to gain or lose weight be the inverted triangle shaped muscular mesomorphs. But I don't think it's very inclusive or detailed, because sometimes, there are fat guys with narrow bone structure and skinny guys with wide shoulders and bones etc.

Honestly If you're confuse, I recommend going off by stereotypes first so it's more simple Dramatics- You look tall, long and your face is angular (Serious Regal woman) Naturals- You look wide specifically on the shoulders. (Girl Next Door, Effortlessly Sexy) Classics- You look average height and symmetrical. (Plain Jane or Elegant Woman) Gamines- You look short and Young. (Manic Pixie Dream Girl, Cute & Quirky) Romantics- You look very feminine and short (Sensual Woman or Princessy) Which of the stereotype do you fit the most? What do people say about your appearance? If you were an actress and the body types were characters of a film, which character would fit you? Try NOT to choose what You want to be, Choose what you actually are. After you find out which main category you belong, you can then figure out if you lean more soft or angular looking in that category. If it's tough or you want to be fully sure, try wearing the signature looks of the body types and see what best compliments you. It should be clothes that follow your bone structure, it fits your archetype and not clothes that hide it and not about the clothes being beautiful, for example long dresses are considered beautiful but gamines are better compliment with short dresses.

@@dreamyanon5151 well it's not about how big your boob and butt, but about your bone structure so you're probably in the Romantic category. Thank you for sharing this information! It makes so much sense. I would often advise my friends to wear the things that look most flattering for their body types, but it was always something I could just see with my eye, but couldn’t explain it. Your explanation also made me feel so much better about my own body type. Even at my lowest weights and smallest sizes (like womens US 4/5), I was never “lean.” Always fleshy. I thought there was something wrong with me. I’m much more comfortable with my body shape now. I think every woman should embrace her own! (As well as wear what they want, too:)) I absolutely adore your hairstyle in this video as well. You look gorgeous!

I am a dramatic classic, but it's funny what you said about the button-up dresses for the classic type because I've loved shirtdresses and button-up tops for YEARS and I gravitate towards them without thinking. Now I know why! And I always choose classic, tailored, more fitted pieces. Anything oversized/bohemian, androgynous, or with weird cut-outs just looks wrong on me. The only difference is that if my hair is too neat, it looks almost flat against my face. Tousled, curled hair helps to soften my jaw and balance out my facial features.
