@CanoeCampClimb yeah that looked amazing. I don't see people cook with just a grate and aluminum foil like that. What an easy way to do it. Enough foil you can make whatever size "pan" you need and it turned out just as good as if you had a pan.

@@AbundantAdventures for sure. I always pack several small squares of folded up foil. I use the extra thick stuff. Very versatile.

One of the greatest 3 day weekends of my life was at Saranac Lake in September of 1983. I was 22 years old and at college and a friend from downstate NY called said he was going camping in the Adirondacks for Labor Day weekend. The best part was there hardly were any people camping so it felt like we had most of it for ourselves. My friend also had 4 tickets to see Santana Monday Night at SPAC. It simply was one of the happiest weekends of my life. It was a college budddy and I in one canoe my friend and his girlfriend in another canoe. We went across Lower and Middle Saranac Lakes. I have to say it felt very close to the Creator throughout. If you decide to go try to go off season there will be less people up there that time of year. Go out on the canoe at night and stare at the stars. And just listen to the loons and the still quiet Adirondacks. PS If this video captured your heart and mind I would say definitely go. It will be one of the best experiences of your life. (Did you know that the Adirondacks is the largest park in the United States? Most people don't even realize it because when you say New York people automatically just think of the Big City. Its how this place has been sort of been kept such a great secret for so long).

Thank you Maria. I really enjoyed making this video. I think the sounds are just as important as the sights. Now if I could only figure out to incorporate the smell of the pine forest that would be perfect. Here is a longer relaxing video I made last year you might enjoy: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p9Oni7Zp1LS3mZ8.html

I've been crushing your silent series this last month. It's ridiculously awesome how great of a story you're able to tell without saying a word. I love the opening of your videos and keep watching them over and over so I'm probably killing your watch time stats, sorry about that! Keep up the great work!

You definitely had some nice days for shooting video. One thing I can say is you can always expect one day or more of rain or bad weather on an excursion in the Adirondacks and don't ever trust a forecast more than a day out !! I laughed at the squirrels dropping pine cones!! LOL!! There was an Island in Lower Saranac Lake where they ganged up and were trying to drop them directly on us at the picnic table. And then later on when we weren't around, ate a hole in one of my coolers to raid the peanut butter squeeze tube!! Fun Times and more to come!! Hope to run into you some day!
@CanoeCampClimb
@CanoeCampClimb 3 ай бұрын
Ha. Yes I've been bombed by the squirrels more than once. I have a love/hate relationship with them. You are 1000% correct about the rain. Thats why it took me so long to com[plate this video... I wanted perfect bluebird skies and water like glass.... so it could fit the relaxing vibe I was going for. I appreciate the nice comment and thank you for watching. I'll be releasing each "season" as separate videos soon as well.

Apparently the sun always shines in the Adirondacks except in winter? No storms to keep you onshore? No blackflies or noseeums? Goldilocks land!!
@CanoeCampClimb
@CanoeCampClimb 3 ай бұрын
Oh man.... there are plenty of black flies in the Spring... and our fair share of rain as well. I have other videos with rain and mud... especially my hiking videos. The black flies are currently very very hungry... I have several welts to show for it. For this video I wanted a relaxing vibe and finally had a bluebird spring canoe camping trip (sans rain, wind, and bugs) so that I could wrap up this 4 season video. I've been working on it for over a year... so yeah... finding bluebird days that matched up with my schedule took a long time. Have a great paddling season GW and thanks for watching.
