I have to say, you’re the first person to cover this series that’s actually talked in depth about the symbolism in this game. I think most people avoid it because it’s a controversial topic, so kudos!

Silent Hill 3 was actually my first SH game that I ever played. I remember the soundtrack that came with the box and I would listen to it endlessly. Heather became a crush for me while growing up. The darkness and bloody aesthetics of this game was really impressionable. And that film grain is an absolute must. I get very very picky about SH 3 cinematics that are uploaded online that compress the film grain. While SH2 may be my favorite of the franchise, I love SH3. For a plot driven story, there's a lot in SH3 in terms of detail and subtextual layers.

When you watch the BTS of Heather's creation you might have noticed that "higher-ups" had nothing to do with her sex appeal. It was actually other female teammates who came up with the idea that Heather SHOULD be wearing a skirt and high boots to begin with. Male teammates originally wanted her to be wearing jeans (and there's a lot of concept art backing this, even alternate costumes in-game). They even acknowledge this decision and stood behind it 'cause Heather's overall design is a contradiction in itself. Wearing a large, puffy vest to protect her torso from harm, yet her arms are unprotected. Wearing heavy, high boots to protect her legs, yet her skirt reveals her thighs. Just wanted to throw this in there.

Dude, you have no idea how glad I am to hear somebody finally say that it was Harry who was hiding Heather, rather than Heather knowingly hiding from the cult. The stupid movie is the one who put out the idea that she was aware of the cult, and so many people parrot this as if it's in the game. Heather in the game had no fucking idea who or what the cult were or anything about any of this paranormal shit until the events of the game, it was all brand new information to her

Yesterday i was rewatching the sillent hill 2 video and i was like i hope he does one about SH3

I would've watched this a month ago, but KZfaq didn't bother to notify me. From what I've heard by many KZfaqrs- it's a common occurrence KZfaq forgets to send notifications. It can't be unseen now just how tall the walls are in this game, it's as though you are this small thing compared to the power of the town. I was never conscious of it till you brought it up. Your theory on the Crimson god being the devil sounds pretty compelling to me. I was thinking of it before you even brought it up. While you read the 'Crimson Ceremony' from SH2, I'm hearing things such as "The lies and the mist are not they, but I" and "proud and merciless sun" It conjures up The Beast/Devil. I have read most of 'The New Testament', which is the part of the Bible that really digs into this. I've read the entirety of The Old Testament, but there isn't much on the Devil in that book. I believe the Devil plays the role of the Serpent in Genesis that seduces Eve though (he's the original gangsta ladies man). Satan, Devil, The Beast or one of his many other names is the god of lies and treachery and is also the ruler not only of the underworld, but also of Earth. The light represents life, the truth and as a beacon to rise from the mortal and corrupt realm, to a pure higher one. The darkness represents death and nothingness. The Devil hates life and dispels much of the truth while mixing in lies. This is at least, the interpretation I've understood. You mention that the number three is brought up a bunch. Well, the number three in Christianity is seen as holy- representing The Holy Trinity of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. From that, I'm thinking that perhaps the Silent Hill cult has repurposed this holy number into representing the Crimson god, the Yellow god and finally the vessel that will rebirth their god- Alessa. Like a twisted version of The Virgin Mary. Or perhaps the third is simply the rebirth with the vessel being of minor importance. Seeing as this cult is a (hot mess) mix of witchcraft, paganism and Abrahamic faiths and some goddess worship, it stands to reason they would borrow numbers as well. The number seven is another important number for Christians, but I can't recall if it has any significance in SH3 though. Speaking of cycles which you mention a bunch in the video, that's been something like my changing view of Christianity throughout my life. Becoming a Christian in my teens, tossing it aside in my twenties to become an edgy (and angry) atheist,to now discovering value that I didn't see or understand before.

I finally got the chance to watch this monster of a video. I had it on while I was working on my video about Silent Hill. This was absolutely fantastic. Such a deep analysis of my favourite game was amazing and I am so happy you managed to release it, even though you lost so much progress. Please keep up the great content and I can not wait to see what you do next.

I can really appreciate the time and research that you put into these videos, while giving your own personal theories. Silent Hill 2 has a special place in my heart, regardless of how popular it's become. The depth of emotions, subconscious fears and psychological trauma is eerily fascinating to me. I just want to say that i really enjoy these. First found your bloodborne video, and being a huge team silentfan moved onto these. I work on an assembly line in a cooler, so the longer videos are really nice. I will say that i don't quite feel the same about Heather's "well you aren't a person anyway" line at Leonard, I think it's possibly an odd translation maybe more originally along the lines of "well you threw your humanity away so killing you isn't like killing just anyone else" which i feel is the beginning of the slippery slope that could potentially end in her murdering Douglass in the possession ending)

Wow. Just wow. This has been amazing. Not just was there a lot of details about my favorite Silent Hill game, it all seemed to make a lot of sense. And best of all, because it was so long, I felt like "you" spent time with "me" (some rando on the internet), and that feeling really sweetened my late Christmas evening of the 26th. You felt close, and very warm. Thank you a lot for that, cause it felt great. And now I'll have to check out your other videos. One thing though that I found weird at various points, was you making a silly voice for when speaking Heather's lines. That really sounded silly, you can just talk her normally, after all she is pretty badass (Totally had a crush on her when I was a teenager!).

As someone who always struggled to appreciate Silent Hill 3 after playing it and SIlent Hill 2 (which I adored) back to back for the first time in adulthood. Your videos on and touching it has helped really deepen my adoration for it and what it's trying to do.

My favorite part of the analysis was during the credits. “This music...SUCKS.” Absolutely great.

About the Moon stone, the moon affects the tides and is also sometimes mythologically linked to periods bc flow. Also the moon is inherently feminine bc it represents secrets, inner desires, and other such things
