@@spritsfal5088 I think the Siren series would be a great place to see a Japanese-Western game work. Siren started Japanese and switched to Western on the third installment. It kept most of the original elements but reworked the cast and monsters into an American lens. It's also made by people from the original Silent team! I think a Japanese SH could actually do very well the same thing. Not to mention the original SH was made by Japanese people in a Western setting. I personally think they could still retain the western SH feel even if they did add in Japanese elements.

@@Grom-rl8bm Whether the gameplay is good or not is still be to be seen but the story is guaranteed to be one of the best in all of horror; it's being written by Ryushiki07 who has written some of the best VNs ever made. Of course I am hella biased for this guy so honestly I could just be blinded by stardom.

Put gameplay and officially released stuff aside, talk about creativity, this is the creepiest thing I've seen recently and it's not a movie or a show, but relating to the video game industry. They may or may not release the game, but it does put other creators to push their horror game ideas.

Yeah, it looks and sounds interesting but why call this Silent Hill when it's obviously not taking place in Silent Hill or near it? The town itself is a character and crucial for a SH game. Maybe there is a way to teleport you to SH similar to "The Room" but other than that this doesn't make sense. Rather give it a new name and create a new IP when it has nothing to do with the town. But of course the name brings more money even when it makes no sense. Don't get me wrong I like the setting and the visuals of this trailer but this has nothing in common with Silent Hill. Really nothing! Just like Metal Gear Survive has nothing in common with Metal Gear Solid. It only shows that the people in charge at Konami don't have any clue about their franchises. They just want to make as much money as possible. The pachinko machines and mobile games are the best example for that. 4 new games at once sounds to me like Konami didn't learn from their mistakes they did after the original 3 games. Pushing the franchise in directions that don't make sense and potentially lower the quality. Let's see if besides the remake any of the others will be something decent. I'm particularly really skeptical about the online game.

It’s been awhile since I played the games but I played through most of them and I’m pretty sure it’s mainly the people in silent hill who made it turn so evil. Especially the order trying to incarnate their “god”. Which means there could easily be other places like silent hill. In a way this could be an origin story to silent hill. I really don’t see it taking place in Japan as a big deal or even as a money grab. Coming from someone who has strongly disliked Konami since they effed over kojima.

This concept was already well established since Silent Hill 3 though? As the Otherworld is present even though (half of) the game does not take place in Silent Hill, or Silent Hill 4, which doesn't take place in Silent Hill at all. Turns out that the real Silent Hill, are the friends we made along the way.

@@lauson1ex i always feel it was Alessa and Walter's powers that turns the setting into the Otherworld. Regardless, the games had very strong ties and even played in Silent Hill in certain parts of the game. The town itself is the biggest character for the plot. In this new one, it looks to have nothing to do with the town and it would make no sense to either. Therefore it's not Silent Hill. Forbidden Siren is technically Silent Hill in terms of its atmosphere, multi dimension, and plot(religious cults reviving their god). Yet it isn't Silent Hill. It stood on its own. This new one feels like a money grab. Instead of being its own, it slaps the SH label on. If they wanted to go back into history, why not do what was already a part of Silent Hill history? Why not make one based on the Native Americans that inhabited the land before it was Silent Hill and explain its origins? Instead we get a Fatal Frame Siren with SH label.

@@hangguy209 Why can't the same events that happened in Silent Hill (supernatural native american burial grounds) also have happened in a small town in Japan of all places, which is rich in occult and supernatural folklore? Alessa can't possibly have been the only supernatural child in the world. If anything, this is the freshest idea they ever had for Silent Hill and I'm glad they're rising the stakes and expanding its universe. Japan and Central America are the places that make the most sense.

In Japan, there is a place called Silent Hill. Shizuoka Prefecture is written in kanji as 静岡, which literally means Silent Hill.
