Great view of the Base. Looks like the Canadian Arctic where I lived for 4 years. Nice facilities.

I admire those who were brave enough to go. Sometimes I feel I intentionally hold myself back just so I dont have to experience the world so much

Killer video of a special place. I spent a month there in the 90's then back to McMurdo for the winter. Johnny the Diesel Fitter, Smudger, if you're out there, cheers and thanks for the laughs.

I understand that in 2017, BAS - Rothera Research Station received £100m in funding from the UK government. Funds are earmarked for new living quarters, storage and a new wharf. Some funds will go to update facilities at BAS Signy in the South Orkney Islands (a seasonal research station), as well as BAS Bird Island and King Edward Point Base on South Georgia Island. Money well spent as BAS is doing great work. There are some good KZfaq clips on all of these locations. Cheers from Canada.

Superbes et intéressantes images. Il est éloquent que la conception de ces batiments date. Il serait il me semble intéressant d'étudier l'hypothèse de solariser en Photovoltaïque une grande partie de ces toitures.

If this location became completely self sufficient, everyone there would be among the few humans to survive a biological and nuclear apocalypse.

For how long before everything ran out? Food, fuel, power, heat etc.?

Nice images but totally annoying and repetitive music, I would prefer the quad copter high pitched rotors :)
