As a Spanish 17 year old kid at the time, this was the moment I started to get familiar with Kobe thanks to Pau being a laker and got interested in the NBA... Kobe then became my hero and I followed him ever since, nobody else apart from my close relationships has ever had the impact he's had in my life. I miss him so much. I miss not being able to listen to his opinions about life in general. The world is different now and I've been changed. I feel like such an idiot writing these lines that no one will read and I have been crying everyday since his death 2 weeks ago. He was a guy I expected to be around for the next 40 years making the world a better place. I hope t-mac, Shaq, Vanessa and everyone close to him carry on his legacy and somehow fill this huge void. Love you Kobe and Gigi, wherever you are 💔😭

Shaq?
@JBBGeek7 жыл бұрын
Joshua Han The greatest trade in Lakers history was for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the mid-70s. They traded four bench players for Kareem. That was the better version of the Gasol trade. Gasol was only good until about the 2011 or 2012 season. Kareem was great for every single Lakers team he played for; still the only player to win MVP as a member of a team that missed the playoffs back in 1977. It's either Kareem or Kobe if we're talking about a best Laker trade ever. Nothing else comes close. Not. Even. Close.
@JBBGeek7 жыл бұрын
Nate Rivers Shaq was signed by the Lakers in 1996, as you probably know, and was traded to Miami in 2004 for Brian Grant, Caron Butler, and Lamar Odom (and possibly a pick or two, can't remember at the moment). Odom was the longest and most consistent piece afterward, but he's no Kobe or Kareem as far as trades are concerned. As far as biggest free agent signing in Lakers history, Shaq gets my vote, if that's what you meant as far as player transactions.

Easy to tell, Kobe had little idea they would win Back to Back Rings this day, Pau was traded. He didnt foresee just how great it would all come together. At the same time he was happy that the situation in LA had just got much better, but was not aware how great it has just become. In retrospect Kobe says he doesnt feel LA appreciate or knew just what Gasol meant to those 2 Rings. but at one point Gasol was just as vital to LA success as Kobe was, 8 years prior.

@skillarecords wow huge difference man, when kg the boston still got the east semis and were 1 win a away from east finals where as when gilbert went down butler and jamison couldnt get 40 wins to make the playoffs in the east. Also a all-star can stand on his own no matter who there playing. Pierce,grainger,melo,lebron always play decent no matter who the opposing team is. Wade,manu,kobe,roy, always seem to play well against who ever. Thats what seperates role players from all-stars.
